This event is a part of an ongoing collaboration between ersta hospice and the experience Design Group at Konstfack, which aims to rethink end of life care through interdisciplinary collaborative methods. It explores human ex-istential questions, behaviors, relationships and future challenges that af-fect the inter-relationship between living and dying in changing societies. The aim of this WARP conference is to share knowledge, expand minds, inspire and begin to create new visions for end of life care.

Traditional conferences are based on two principles: fi rstly a hierarchical model of thinking and secondly a discipline-based approach to the creation and dissemination of knowledge. The same people keep on meeting each other, time after time, and discuss the same experiences and concepts. The inevitable result is: “more of the same”. This is what the WAR P cONfeR-eNce* attempts to address. It is not the experts that the WAR P cONfeR-eNce puts at the centre of things but, rather, the direct exchange of knowl-edge between the participants – and it seeks to do this by using a speed-dating technique. In short, two-person discussions people from the most diverse fi elds of activities and backgrounds meet: Architects discuss with street artists, politicians with writers, car developers with biologists, In short brainstormings they are looking for ideas and develop them into working hypotheses about the challenges for their city.

The word „warp“ comes from science fi ction literature and refers to the faster-than-light propulsion systems of space ships.

W.I.R.e. is an independent think tank based in Switzerland, which analyses global developments in the fields of business, society and the life sciences.
