Annual
Mission Statement of Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club
To inspire and enable all young people to realize
their potential as productive, responsible and caring
citizens and community leaders
of tomorrow.
This belief focused our attention on
the economic challenges of the past
year. The commitment and experience
of our strong management staff,
dedicated volunteers and generous
donors made it possible for Grenville
Baker Boys & Girls Club to continue
its fifty-nine year tradition of reaching
our community’s children and
providing that rich experience.
As you are well aware, 2009 presented
challenges to individuals and families
throughout Locust Valley and the
surrounding communities. More
children and their families reached out
to our Club to help navigate them
through these tough economic times.
Though we are optimistic that our
community is turning a positive
corner, the needs are still great and
Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club
could not provide these important
programs without the generous
support of individuals, community
partners and local corporations.
Your support makes it possible for
us to serve over 1,700 youth in
Locust Valley and the surrounding
communities. Thank you for demon-
strating to us that as long as we keep
focused on our mission, you will help
us continue to make a difference
in the lives of children and teens who
need us the most.
For almost sixty years, GBBGC
has provided children and their
families with extended hours, special
programs and recreational activities
as well as leadership training,
employment, college preparation
support and a host of other safe
and engaging initiatives all for a
small membership fee.
In 2009, over
1,700 members
participated in
80 programs,
services and
activities that
helped to make
a difference in
our children’s
lives. Whether it
was learning how
to recycle, spend-
ing more time doing
their homework, preparing for
college or just playing in our
social recreation room our Club
members were able engage in
exciting initiatives that enable them
to enrich their lives.
As we reflect on 2009, we want to
thank all of those who joined with
Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club
in strengthening the foundations of
our community. Whether you
participated as a donor, a community
partner, a volunteer, member or
employee, you recognized that tough
economic times required an even
greater investment in ensuring that
children and families have a safe
place where they can grow and make
positive life choices, necessary for a
successful future.
Every child deserves a Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club experience!

the five Core Program Areas.
Triple Play
This national program takes a holistic
approach to educating boys and
girls about good nutrition, making
physical fitness a daily practice and
developing individual strengths and
good character. In addition to com-
ponents for the mind and body, the
Triple Play program gets at the soul
of the Club experience – the games-
room. Each mind, body and soul pro-
gram component can stand alone,
yet integrating them allows Club
members to reap more powerful,
lifelong benefits.
TeenSupreme
The TEENSupreme® initiative, a strate-
gic partnership between Taco Bell
Foundation and Boys & Girls Clubs of
America, equips Clubs with tools and
resources to create a positive place

technical assistance, teen program-
ming information and resources to all
Clubs interested in better serving
teens in their communities.

Club Supporters
The following individuals, businesses and foundations have shown
support for the Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club by investing in this organization
during the period of September 1, 2005 through August 31, 2006. Contributions were
made to one or more of the following initiatives: One Campaign, Dinner Dance,
Foundation Support, Memorial Contributions, Basketball, Baseball and Softball Sponsors,
Summer Day Camp Sponsors, and the “Pidge” Martin Golf Tournament.
We are also extremely grateful for the numerous in-kind donations of goods and services
we receive each year, especially to our annual clothing sale. These generous contribu-
tions help to limit costs while maintaining a high level of service to Club members and
the community. We received too many contributions to list but we truly appreciate the
generosity of supporters.
Every contribution to the Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club
helps strengthen our award winning programs, helps
launch new ones, and ensures that our children have a safe
and fun environment where they can learn and grow. On
behalf of our community’s children, thank you.
