Worship Schedule
Dear Friend,
Christy and I want to take the opportunity after our initial travels to thank you all for the great send-off after our three years at FPC.
We are truly blessed with your friendship and your prayers. Your many gifts and cards of thanks fill our souls to overflowing.
To our friends on the staff we express profound gratitude for the privilege of working side by side on
behalf of the Gospel of Jesus. We look forward to seeing you all in the coming months.
We will be on the road a lot and only in Toledo area a couple of times for a week or so between now and January.
Blessings and love,
Pastor Steve and Christy

Dish and Dine Signup Time is Here Fall groupings for Dish and Dine will be formed soon so if you spent all last year regretting the fact that you were not part of a group, now is the time to remedy that feeling! For those of you unaware of the Dish and Dine program, it is an informal gathering of eight to ten people once a month for four months at various local restaurants. If you wish to join us this year you can contact Sarah Platz at [email protected] or let Susan
Platz in the church office know of your interest. If you choose not to email me, I will still need your email address and home phone number for contact information for the group members. I will gladly answer any questions if you catch me at church or via email.
Please consider joining us this year. You won't regret it. Groups will be forming in the next few weeks so get your name to me as soon as possible. Sarah Platz
New City Catechism Question of the Week
NCC Q32: What do justification and sanctification
mean?
Answer: Justification means our declared righteousness before God, made possible by Christ's death and resurrection for us. Sanctification means our gradual, growing righteousness, made possible by the Spirit's work in us.
Click here to visit The New City Catechism website for more meaningful messages, videos and prayers about this weeks question.

Calling All Carolers On Sunday, August 24 we will be caroling to Lois Driver. Members should meet at the Driver's home ready to sing at 10:30 a.m. Ben and Lois live at 134 West Wayne St. in Maumee. Their home is in uptown Maumee, across the street from The Maumee Elks Club. On Sunday morning, there will be plenty of on street parking. Lois has a difficult time getting to church, and therefore, can not attend on a regular basis. She is looking forward to us coming out to sing to her. We will sing 5-6 very familiar songs. Sing, hum, or just smile; no auditions needed. The 20-minutes out of your morning will do Lois a world of good, and you will leave feeling blessed as well. Thank you, Your Deacons
When Shopping, Think Scrip! Why do we do SCRIP? The SCRIP program is one way we can be wise stewards of our resources. One of the lessons in the parable of the talents in Matthew 25:14-30 is that God gives everyone differing gifts. It does not matter how many resources God has blessed us with - what matters is that we use those talents wisely and in the furthering of His kingdom. It is not the amount of resources or the type of ability which matters; what matters is that each of us are called to use our talents to the best of our abilities. The SCRIP program allows us to do that. Purchasing SCRIP cards and gift certificates allows over +300 vendors to donate up to 18% of your purchase back to the youth of our church. That is using your resources to the best of your ability, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Any questions you may have about the SCRIP Program, see Jim Otis.
The Church That Plays Together-- Prays Together
In the coming year, our FPC family will have many opportunities to play together. . . and I encourage you to reserve time for play.
A church picnic, Christmas Breakfast, variety show and many other fun times and activities are in the works, including men and women's retreats, a youth Christmas program, Agape Meal and Vacation Bible School - just to name a few. I hope that our playtime will lead to increased praytime and church unity. Please mark your calendar and consider who you might like to invite to join us. Let's commit ourselves to being a family that prays, plays, and stays together! Pastor Clint
