1. Features:

Input and output 1.1 Input: 1x VGA (support VGA & YPbPr), 1x DVI-I (support DualLink DVI, VGA & HDMI 1.4a), 1x

DisplayPort, 1.2 Video Output: 1x DVI-D, 1x VGA 1.3 Audio in: PC audio in Jack, HDMI embedded audio 1.4 Audio out: 1x SPDIF RCA output, PC analog audio output Jack (stereo) 1.5 Full HD input and output 1.6 DisplayPort and DualLink-DVI support up to 2560x1600 input resolution Geometry and warp 1.7 Patented warp technology for precise geometry alignment & edge blending. 1.8 Designed with dual warp engines for independent warp/geometry adjustment and edge blending. 1.9 Simultaneous [4 Corner] adjustment + [Warp] + [Edge Blend] for convenient image stacking and curved

screen edge blending. 1.10 Double geometry adjustment range. For resolution under 1400x1050, the adjusting range of corner

position can be up to +_ 512 pixels horizontally and +_400 pixels vertically. 1.11 Edge mask for image edge trim. 1.12 Precise image position, rotation, sizing and aspect ratio adjustment, including 16:9 and 2.35:1 aspect

ratio conversion. Edge Blending 1.13 Input image can be edge-blended before geometry adjustment to make sure the blending area always

compliant with warping area to get the best edge blending result. 1.14 Precise black level compensation to eliminate grey banding effect in edge blending area due to optical

light leakage from the projector while executing edge blending process. 1.15 Provide edge blending fine tune adjustments in either overlap region or none overlap region: overlap

pixel setting, Gamma, five selective LUT (Look Up Table), Gain, Offset (for black level compensation) and Shift (eliminate banding effect) functions.

1.16 Embedded eWarp function. Users can run optional eWarpPro software tool in PC to create warp map and download to G-104 for irregular curve, surface mapping and edge blending.

1.17 Support 360 degrees curved screen, wave screen or irregular curve screen edge blending and pixel mapping.

1.18 Able to implement vertical image edge blending, no need to rotate image from input sources. This function is good for the application required more image height.

Passive 3D and active 3D applications 1.19 De-multiplexing 3D formats from Blue Ray, Set Top Box, PC…for dual projector passive 3D display. 1.20 Support HDMI 1.4a 3D formats, including 1080p/24Hz full HD, Side by Side, Top-Bottom, Line interleave

and 1080i/60Hz frame packed 3D from Sony TD-20/30 camcorder. 1.21 Support PIP function in passive 3D display, both main and PIP windows are still with 3D effect. 1.22 Special algorithm for perfect synchronization in RH/LH channels for passive 3D and active 3D display. 1.23 Support passive 3D image alignment, curved screen display, image stacking (enhance brightness) and

edge blending (expand display screen). 1.24 Support DLP-Link 3D Ready or Nvidia 3D Vision active 3D for image warp (for curved screen display),

image stacking (enhance brightness) and edge blending (enlarge display screen). 1.25 Convert 1080p/24Hz frame packed 3D from Blue Ray or 1080p/120Hz active 3D signal from PC or

1.31 Video wall control & edge blending up to 15x15 matrix displays. Image flip and rotation 1.32 Built-in image FLIP function in Horizontal and Vertical directions or both. This function is convenient for

rear projection and system installation. 1.33 Image 90/180/270 degrees rotation with original aspect ratio or full screen. It is good for digital signage

By connecting with

WiFi Router through Ethernet ports, user can control G-104 through devices integrated with WiFi such as iPad, smart phone or Notebook PC.

2. Applications case study:

3.1 Case A: Simple curved screen edge blending

a. No PC or special tool required

b. One 1x4 DVI/HDMI splitter is required to feed the same input signal to 4x G-104.

c. If the input is through DualLink DVI or DisplayPort ports, it can support up to 2560x1600 resolution

input to get the best result in multiple projector edge blending.

d. User needs to do geometry adjustment and warping function to align the images onto curved screen

and let the images between two projectors have the same grid size and with necessary overlap pixels.

e. After geometry and warp adjustment, user can apply Video Wall function in G-104 to split the image,

cropping the correct area and assign to each projector.

f. Finally, user needs to set edge blending parameters to combine the images into one seamless big

screen.

3.2 Case B: Edge Blending with flexible displays from different video sources

a. Each G-104 has three independent inputs with PIP function. By select different input source in each

projector and set different video wall or edge blending settings in each projector, it will combine a flexible

multiple displays in one big screen.

b. With profile [Save] and [Load] function, user can easily Save and Load different display parameters and

display styles as it is needed. It takes only few seconds to switch among different display profiles.

c. User can also apply [PIP] (Picture in Picture) function to add more sub-display window in each projector

to get more fancy display. Please see [PIP] section for more details.

3.3 Case C: Edge Blending with Matrox Video card for high resolution display

a. Matrox video card can provide up to 16x full HD video outputs from one PC system. It can set the

overlap size but can’t do geometry adjustment and edge blending for projectors.

b. The combination of G-104 and Matrox video card can provide high resolution curved screen edge

blending video wall with super high output resolution.

c. The advantage for this kind of application is high output resolution. However, it still has some limitation

in the system playback:

i. All the input signals shall come from PC but not from multiple input sources

ii. The PC shall have enough processing power to handle multiple output windows. More video output

ports from Matrox video card will occupy more PC resource.

iii. Different playing contents will also require different CPU resource. User needs to test before

implement this kind of display system.

iv. The output aspect ratio will change based on the display matrix of the system. User needs to take care

of the aspect ratio in the source content in advance.

d. Usually, the video quality will be good enough for most of the applications if output resolution to each

projector can reach XGA resolution in the video wall with XGA native resolution projectors.

e. For a 2x2 video wall edge blending application, we recommend not to use any PC system to get more

reliable and flexible video inputs from Blue Ray, Media Player or other video sources.

f. GeoBox will handle warping and edge blending function, it will reduce the CPU loading in PC and

reserve more resource to handle interactive or high end video playback without image lag.

3.4 Case D:

Edge Blending with 50% Matrox Video card for high resolution curved display

(Example A: to use half CPU loading—one output for two projectors)

(Example B: to use 1/4 CPU loading—one output for four projectors)

Description for Example A in Case D:

a. The overlap settings will be done by both G-104 and Matrox display card (3 from Matrox card and 4 from

G-104) and G-104 executes both geometry adjustment and edge blending.

b. The difference of this application example with Case C is that this system requires only 50% of Matrox

video card outputs and PC processing power. It will provide more smooth system operation with less

limitation.

c. Usually, each full HD signal can feed up to 4 GeoBox and still keep good video quality. It means one

Matrox M9148 can provide signal for up to 16 projectors and still keep reasonable video performance.

d. The output signal from PC can be at the highest output resolution from Matrox video card, i.e.

2560*1600 through DisplayPort output. G-104 DualLink DVI or DisplayPort can capture this output

signal and crop necessary output resolution for the projector. The maximum output resolution to

projector can be up to 1920x1200 (or full HD).

e. This configuration provides a compromised solution between smoothly system running and high output

resolution.

Below is example of the application in restaurant with “M” shape video wall:

a. 8x Sony WXGA projectors

b. 1x M9148 Matrox display card

c. 4x G-502 (or 8x G-104)

d. 19.6m (W) x 1.6m (H) screen

e. Total display resolution: 8490x800

3.5 Case E: Irregular curved display or edge blending

This kind of applications require eWarp Pro PC software tool. User needs to install eWarp Pro software

tool in the PC. Based on the adjustment of the grid pattern in eWarp Pro, user can map the image into

irregular curved display or do edge blending alignment between two projectors. After geometry

alignment, user can execute Video Wall and Edge Blend function in GeoBox to complete an irregular

curved image seamless display with multiple projectors.

3.6 Case F: Active 3D and passive 3D display

User can use two G-104 as 3D demultiplexer to decode HDMI 1.4 3D signal for passive 3D

display using two projectors. This kind of passive 3D application can be expanded to bigger screen

through edge blending with more GeoBox and projectors. User can also increase brightness in 3D

system through image stacking with more projectors.

Using single G-104, user can convert 1080p/24Hz frame packing 3D from Blue Ray or

1080p/120Hz 3D from PC or Nvidia card into 720p/XGA 120Hz 3D signal for DLP-Link “3D Ready”

projector or Nvidia “3D Vision” compatible projector. Besides 3D format conversion, GeoBox can also

apply geometry alignment for active 3D curved screen display. Through multiple G-104, user can do

edge blending or image stacking with multiple projectors to get big screen active 3D display with

brighter image. Special algorithm is designed to synchronize RH/LH image in both passive and active

3D display.

(This is a case to use 4 Epson full HD projectors to do edge blending on curved screen for passive 3D

display)

(This is a case to use 2 Optoma XGA projectors on “L” shape video wall with active 3D display)

3.7 Case G: irregular curve edge blend + PIP images

3.8 Case H: PIP in whole screen

User can add one G-104 at the front end of the system and enable PIP function, then feed the output to

video splitter and share the outputs to back end GeoBox for edge blending or other applications. Then user

can have flexible PIP with flexible size, location and aspect ratio in the whole screen.

3.9 Case I: More PIP or geometry adjustment range

If double PIP windows, double geometry adjustment range or special effect is required, use can

connect more GeoBox in serial to get more flexible applications.
