LOVE IN ACTIONThis is one of the best programs I have had work with my

students in my 16-year teaching carreer. They are hands on,

engaging + timely and care. ~ ENA Teacher

The way LOVE unities the students and engage them in the

activities. Helping to see it’s OK to be different we are all

more alike than different ~ ENA Teacher

Our team left elated and inspired.  We have more poets in

the wings.  Watch us fly next year!  ~ Muling & janet, East

York Collegiate

LOVE staff gave us courage and allowed us to think about

our dreams.  - Youth Participant; 14

I love LOVE it is my go to place. Instead of hanging on the

streets, I can go to LOVE. ~Youth Leader

LOVE is my safe place. LOVE gives me a place to deal with

my issues, they offer me lots of supports. ~Youth Leader; 16

CORE PROGRAMS

FUNDERS

1.   MAP - Media Arts Program

MAP takes place after school and serves up to 75 youth per year.

Activities include facilitated group discussions and interactive

media arts projects to share poignant personal stories and articulate

lived experiences through photography, video and creative writing.

2. LOUDER THAN A BOMB

Louder Than A Bomb is an extraordinary youth poetry festival that

uses spoken word poetry to engage over 400 young people in

literacy, oral tradition and personal empowerment. LOVE spoken

word artists lead workshops in classroom settings, slam teams then

compete in regional, semi-final & final poetry slams city-wide.

3.   LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

Leadership builds on MAP, creating youth advocates who

undertake local projects and build leadership skills. Youth explore

civic engagement, media literacy and critical thinking.

4.   NATIONAL LEADERSHIP CAMP

Each year, approximately 20 youth from each LOVE region in

Canada came together for an intensive week long national

leadership camp. Youth participate in a variety of leadership

activities and form long-lasting friendships.

5.   ANTI-VIOLENCE WORKSHOPS

LOVE leads hands-on, customized workshops in schools and

community settings, covering a range of important topics such as

Day of Pink, Anti-Bullying, Healthy Relationships, Black History

Month, Cyber Bullying, Body Image and Mental Health.
