of the Above Place A strange white woman who was supposed to be from Tampa with two young children was among the pas aengers on Conductor Rays train to Wilcox station on Thursday night and when the train arrived at Lottlevllle station slipped oil and placed one of the children the infant in an old vacant house The woman again boarded the train and got off at Wilcox and nothing further was thought of the occurrence until Friday morning when the train reached Lottlevllle and Mr Barker to Inquire of Conductor Ray about the child and told how he had found- It when it Instantly came to his mind about the woman leaving the train and boarding It again without the baby He described the woman as being young and fairly good looking and as she seemed in a good mood he never once that she had done such an act aK to desert infant Mr Barker who Is a merchant at the place was attracted by the cried of the child and at once Investigated when he found the Infant hidden In a box In an old shed near his store about 11 oclock p in He stated to the reporter over the long distance phone that he knew the woman who was from Tampa but would give nothing further in to the matter until the woman was placed under arrest which would be done some time during the day as he had located her and a deputy would be sent for her The Infant Is a little girl and ap- pears to be about five weeks old so lIt GROVES THAT ARE RE- PORTED HEAVY WITH FRUIT Drouth Has Had a Good Deal to Do With the Scarcity Throughout- This Section of State The orange groves of Alachua coun- ty will fall far short of their fruit yield the coming fall in all places so tar heard from and particularly so in the Mlcanopy and Tacoma section which was at one time the home of the golden fruit- It Is said that only about three groves have any fruit to speak of and they are those of Dr H L A G Lamb and Capt H W Fontane and the fruit on these groves Is very fancy so course the other groves are not barren but the smallest crop that been on the trees In years Is the pretf ent one and this is accounted for In a measure by the drougth which the bloom to shed and later tin young fruit There will be a number of carloads from the
