Step 5:

• Use the heat gun at the lowest setting

to heat the frame/border of the phone.

When using the heat gun, be careful

not to leave it heating in one area for

too long. Constantly move the heat gun

when using it.

Step 6:

• Insert the metal spudger underneath

the midframe and the front glass.

Step 7:

• Slide the metal spudger to release the

adhesive.

• If you find any kind of resistance

remember to reheat as needed for

easier separation.

Step 8:

• Apply heat to the topside of the device

near the ear speaker.

• Slide the metal spudger across the top

of the device, being very careful not to

insert the pick too deeply.

cooling adhesive, reheat the area for

easier separation.

left half of the phone stopping at the

lower left corner.

Step 10:

• Slide the metal spudger all the way to

the bottom left corner of the phone.

• The bottom end of the phone contains

the soft button and home button ribbon

cables. If you insert the metal spudger

too far into the phone you risk cutting

these cables.

• Slide the metal spudger across the

bottom edge of the display to separate

the last of the remaining adhesive.

Step 12:

• If the front panel is not easily freed, the

adhesive on the soft button cable may

need to be separated.

• These cables are thin and easily

damaged, therefore be certain you are

only peeling them off the display

assembly and not lacerating them.

• Insert metal spudger under the soft button icons on the display and pry the button cables

down off the inside of the front panel.

home button end of display assembly.

It is still attached by a connector.

Step 14:

• Use the sharp tip of a spudger to lift the

front panel assembly cable connector

straight up off its socket on the

motherboard.

• Safely remove the front panel assembly

from phone.
