We come from Galicia, which is one of the 17 Spanish regions.

More precisely, we come from Ferrol, which is a small town by the Atlantic ocean.

Galicia has two cooficial languages: Spanish and Galician.

Both are Romance languages.

As in many other places in the world where two languages coexist, some Galicians think that “Galicia is not Spain”.

We certainly do not want to start this debate here, but we have some proofs which show that Galicia is not the Spain that some foreigners imagine…

In other parts of Spain there are bulls and bullfighters. Olé!

Galicians are said to have a Celtic past, which makes us have traditions also found in other Celtic countries, such as Ireland, Wales or Scotland.

For example, this is our traditional musical instrument, the bagpipe (gaita).

And we also celebrate Samaín, the equivalent of the American Halloween. This tradition originated in Ireland and was first called Samhain.
