It is almost here… but don’t panic! Your FMSR will be providing information on how to play the game, pointers for customer use of the app and multi-draw to save you time and contact, point of sale materials, winner awareness tools, and help with any questions you may have.
The Lottery will be advertising on television, social media and in digital ads to make customers aware of the game and direct them to retailers like yourself. This game provides a great opportunity for lottery sales growth at your location, as well as repeat customer visits. If you already sell Keno, you will notice a rebrand of the game, shorter draw times, and new looks to the drawings!
FMSRs will begin visiting locations starting June 8th with information and materials.
We hope increases in your sales will be as easy as 1… 2… 3… KENO GO!
TIPS & TRICKSPAYING WINNERS PAYS OFF FOR YOU!
The Lottery works hard to serve players as we validate and pay winning tickets by mail as quickly as possible. Mailing tickets in is always an option, but our offices will soon open with limited staff for in-person claims also!
You can keep the money flowing at your location and your players happy and shopping by paying prizes up to $600! Cash creates repeat spenders, but you may also pay with a check if your location authorizes check payments and the player agrees to receive the check.
For winning tickets $601 and over, have your customers follow the instructions on the ticket back. Signed winning tickets and a copy of their driver’s license and social security card should be mailed to our Validations Office.
Cashing tickets builds customer loyalty and increases their likelihood to purchase products from your location!
NO INSTANT SHIPMENTS JUNE 25, 26 AND 29!Every fiscal year the Lottery is required to complete a physical inventory of all instant tickets that are warehoused. No instant tickets may be shipped out of the warehouse during this time. This means that your telemarketing sales rep (TSR) and field sales and field marketing rep (FMSR) will work with you to make sure you have enough instant ticket packs on hand to get through the following Tuesday. You will receive allocations of the new HIT Family June 16th and orders will begin shipping again June 30th. You may still place orders!
No ticket shipments Thursday June 25th, Friday June 26th, and Monday 29th
Shipments resume on Tuesday June 30th
July new instant ticket will auto-ship for delivery on June 16th

Q: How long have you/your location been selling Lottery?
A: Mom and dad started with the restaurant in 1967 and it grew from there. Our family has offered Lottery to our customers since 1986. I bought the business about 18 years ago. We sell everything that Lottery has to offer with the exception of Keno, and we look forward to getting that soon.
Q: Your establishment is in the top rankings for Lottery sales, what do you think is the contributing factor(s)?
A: We have a lot of loyal local customers, a good local business, great staff who engage each customer, and a lot of customers have been coming here for many years.
Q: When you hire a new employee, what do you train them on to do well in selling Lottery?
A: When we hire a new employee, they need to be able to talk to the customers. We want them to engage with each one and answer all there questions. We start with the new employee working with other staff for up to two weeks to make sure they feel confident.
Q: What is your best practice tip for great sales and happy lottery customers?
A: We celebrate winners. We hang up winning tickets and winner posters without personal information to keep them safe. People who come to our store get excited about our winners.
Q: Has your establishment ever participated in a Lottery promotion?
A: Our location does the “buy a certain amount get a free promo ticket” promotions. In the past, this has really helped us spur sales and clear out older instant ticket stock.
Q: What is your favorite thing about selling Lottery?A: My favorite thing about selling lottery is the people, player
reactions, especially if they hit a big winner. We cash winners and they usually turn around and spend it in our store on other products or the Lottery.
Bob’s Mini Mart was ranked 38th in overall lottery sales statewide in fiscal 2019.
