OSU IN SEASON OPENERS• The Cowgirls are 35-11 all time in season openers and have won 13 consecutive home openers.• OSU's last loss in an opener came on Nov. 19, 2005 against Texas State.• Last year, the Cowgirls hung on down the stretch for a 62-60 win over Arkansas State in their opener.

LAST TIME OUT• The Cowgirls defeated Emporia State, 87-66, on October 27 in their lone exhibition contest of the year.• OSU has now won 24 consecutive exhibition contests.• The Cowgirls are also 11-0 in exhibition play under the direction of head coach Jim Littell• Vivian Gray led all scorers with 20 points and was one of four Cowgirls in double figures.• Natasha Mack logged a double-double, finishing with 10 points and 12 rebounds.• OSU outrebounded the Lady Hornets by a 67-35 count.

FILL IT UPOver the past four years, the Cowgirls produced the Big 12's leading scorer three years in a row and the second-leading point producer last season.• In 2016, Big 12 Player of the Year Brittney Martin paced the league with her 20.4 points per game.• The following year, first-team All-Big 12 selection Kaylee Jensen averaged a league-best 18.7 points per outing.• Two years ago, Big 12 Newcomer of the Year Loryn Good-win's 20.6 points per game were tops in the league.• Last year, Big 12 Newcomer of the Year Vivian Gray was second among league players with her 20.0 points per game.

PRO POKESSeveral members of the Oklahoma State program have continued their careers at the professional level, heading overseas this season. • Mandy Coleman is on the roster for Toulouse in France, the squad for which former Cowgirl Kaylee Jensen competed a year ago.• After competing in Israel for Bnei Yehuda last year, Loryn Goodwin is playing this season for Antayla in Turkey.• Additionally, Tiffany Bias is competing in Thailand as a member of its national team.• Brisa Silva is on the roster for Mieleras in her native Mexico.

FEELING A DRAFTUntil 2010, the Cowgirl program had gone without a WNBA draft pick before Andrea Riley went to the Los Angeles Sparks with the No. 8 pick that year. OSU has had four picks since that time with Loryn Goodwin being the most recent last spring, going in the second round (No. 18 overall) to the Dallas Wings. She joins a list that includes Toni Young (New York, 2013), Tiffany Bias (Phoenix, 2014) and Brittney Martin (San Antonio, 2016).

GRAY NAMED ALL-BIG 12After receiving unanimous all-conference honors and being named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year last season, Vivian Gray was tabbed as a preseason All-Big 12 pick.• Gray, who was an honorable mention All-American as well, took part in the 2019 U.S. Pan American Games Trials this past summer.•The junior produced one of the most prolific offensive sea-sons in school history a year ago. Gray averaged 20.0 points per game, which ranked second among Big 12 players and 25th nationally. Additionally, her average was the fifth-best nationally among sophomores.•Gray became just the third OSU sophomore to average 20 points per outing and just the second Cowgirl in program his-tory to score 600 points as a sophomore. Her scoring average rose to 21.6 points per game in league play.

WHAT IS BACKIn addition to All-American Vivian Gray, the Cowgirls return a young nucleus, which gained extensive experience a year ago.• Sophomore center Kassidy De Lapp played in 29 games a year ago, making 19 starts.• Senior center Mariam Gnanou played in all 30 contests during her first season in Stillwater, starting nine of those games.• Sophomore Ja'Mee Asberry also played in all 30 games a year ago, making 17 starts at the point guard position.• Sophomore forward Bryn Gerlich saw action in 23 games during her freshman campaign.

NOTEWORTHY• Six countries are represented on OSU’s roster. In addition to the United States, the Cowgirls boast players from Brazil, Canada, Ivory Coast, Mozambique and Senegal.• Of the 15 players on OSU’s roster, 10 are listed at 6-0 or taller.• The Cowgirl roster features the 2019 Big 12 New-comer of the Year (Vivian Gray), the 2019 national junior college player of the year (Natasha Mack) and the 2019 Girls Canadian Player of the Year (Micah Dennis).• OSU's staff has a pair of new additions with Patsy Armstrong coming aboard as the assistant athletic director/basketball operations and Brendan Roberts entering his first season as its video coordinator.

ROLLING ON 20SWith their 21-win campaign a two years ago, the Cowgirls have reached the 20-win plateau six times in eight seasons under head coach Jim Littell.• OSU has produced 16 20-win seasons in its history with nine of those coming since 2006-07.

IN THE GENESAfter enjoying a prep career that saw her surpass 2,000 career points and earn all-state honors at Colleyville Heritage, you do not have to look far to see athletic success runs in Bryn Gerlich’s family.• Gerlich’s father, Bryan, was a linebacker for the Texas Tech football team and her mother, Krista, played basketball for the Lady Raiders.• Krista was a three-time All-Southwest Conference honoree and helped Tech to the 1993 NCAA title. She currently serves as the head coach at UT Arlington.

PATH LESS TRAVELEDSophomore Ja’Mee Asberry took a non-conventional path to the start of her collegiate career. After win-ning a state title for East Central High School in Tulsa as a junior, Asberry suffered an injury the following summer, causing her to miss her senior season. That same summer, she lost her mother after a three-year battle with lupus. The 5-5 guard opted to enroll at OSU in December and spend the spring semester completing her rehab in preparation for the 2018-19 season.

RED, WHITE, BLUE AND GRAYVivian Gray was among those invited to participate in trials for the 2019 U.S. Pan American Games Women's Basketball Team. For Gray, it marked her second experience with USA Basketball after participating in 2016 at the U18 trials.

COWGIRL GLOBETROTTERSA pair of Cowgirls represented their countries this past summer on the international stage.• Micah Dennis competed for Team Canada this past summer at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup in Bangkok, Thailand.• Mariam Gnanou took part in the FIBA Women's AfroBasket games for her native Ivory Coast, which were held in Senegal.
