Who am I? This game could be used for Entrainment Achievement, or Team Building game, Icebreaker game, Prize game, Memory game.

Divide your group into 2 teams.

Each person writes the name of a well-known person they would like to be play for this game on a notecard. (Well-known or Famous People)

The leader then collects the notecards (one team at a time) and writes on a piece of poster board the names.

Teams sit together and poster board is displayed by the corresponding team.

Teams go back and forth trying to figure out which person on the other team has chosen what well-known person or famous person

If they guess right that person then joins their team. Game goes until all players are on one team and that team is the winner. You are keeping secret the identity of the person you wrote down but teams work together to figure out who is who.

Going Up or

Going Down?

This game is a trust game. It can be used in any achievement with teamwork. You could use this game as a Team building game, Icebreaker game, Prize game and in a small group.

You start by splitting everyone up into teams of two.

Everyone is standing and has their backs against each other. Holding their hands in the air, they have to sit on the floor without falling over.

After they sit down, tell them that they have to get back up! (Also with their hands in the air) This game is great to encourage a team effort. After your teams have successfully (or somewhat successfully--you decide) completed the task, mix up the teams. Make sure that you now have three people on each team, and repeat the process. After that, break up the groups into teams of four.

This game can be really versatile, and can be played whether you have four, eight, or twenty youth. It can work well as an icebreaker, but is also good to reinforce a lesson on cooperation, encouragement, and/or trust. If you want, you can have prizes for the teams that sit down and stand back up the fastest. When you're done, talk about how cooperation is really important--if one person stands up without waiting for the rest, everyone falls down!

This game can become really hilarious.

O's and X's

This game can be used as a Team building games.

Play O's and X's with people either in different colour bib's / shirts or just with the hands in the shape of what they are etc. Number the Teams. The Caller will call one of the numbers and those people run to a chair. The person shows what team they are (O’s or X’s). The Caller continues to call numbers until a Team has three Team members in a row. You continue the game until all the numbers are called. The Team with the most points is the winning Team.

Watch Out!!!

This game is a trust and teamwork game. It could be used for any achievements with food or as a fun night game.

Set up the area with plates. The plates consist with jelly or water, flour, food colouring mixture.

Have the group divided into two teams, with one person from each team to be the Caller. The Caller stands at the opposite end to the team.

The other players are blindfolded, and have their shoes off.

When the teams are ready, you start the game. The Caller starts calling one person at a time from the Team, the Caller guides those Team mates through the area without getting them to stand on the plates of food.

If someone puts they foot on a plate that person is out.

The Team with most Team members across to the other side is the winning team. This game is a messy game and needs to done in an area that is best for a messy game.

Animal Kingdom

Game

This game is great for the Animal Kingdom Achievement. (Cadets and Juniors)

Have the group to stand in a big circle, all facing inwards.

Choose a leader (who knows how to play) to start the game by demonstrating their animal noise. (For example, they might do an elephant, making a trumpet-like noise while waving their arm like a trunk.)

Give each person in the circle, an animal noise and action (just like in the example).

Have each person show what animal they are.

Then start the game:

The first player will do their own animal noise, and then pass it on to someone else by doing their animal noise. So it might go "elephant - cat" then whoever is the cat must respond "cat - donkey" etc. If a player takes too long to respond, or passes back, or makes a mistake, then they are out!

The game works in a "pass the buck" style.

Cup Stack Relay

This game is a Team building game, Icebreaker game.

Divided the group into two teams.

Have the teams stand behind a line. Have two tables about a metre away from the start line. Each team has 15 cups stacked up like a pyramid.

The first player will run to the table then they will collapse the pyramid, then the player runs back and tips the next player.

The next player will run to the table and restack all the cups back into the pyramid formation, then the player runs back and tips the next player and they continue with the game.

You continue until everyone has had a turn.

The first team to finish wins.

To make this game a challenge you can have the teams to stack the cups back up in colour

order or have different size cups (the cups need to be able to stack).

True or False Game

This game could be used with devotions. You could also use any achievement.

The group stands in the middle of the designated area. (If outside, use markers eg cones).

If inside mark one wall as ‘true’ and the other side as ‘false’, if outside have a marker as ‘true’ and the other marker as ‘false’.

The leader reads out a question. eg 'Noel built the ark’?. When you say 'Run!' the players must run for whichever side they think is correct - true or false -.

The players who went to the wrong answer, they are out of the game.

STAYING IN THE MIDDLE IS NOT AN OPTION.

The last player left is the winner. You could do this game as a team, and score points.

Tap It! This is a good memory game. You could use it as a devotional game.

Have the group sit in a circle on chairs. You give them each a word of the memory verse.

You ‘Tap’ them on the head and they have to say their word. You tap the next person, they

say their word and you continue around the circle. Once you have gotten through the whole

verse, they all move one seat to the left. They then have to say the word that the previous

person sitting in the chair was saying.

Once they start to get good at it, increase the pace. Then you can call out CHANGE and the

group change to a different spot, and then you go around the circle and see if everyone

remembers the memory verse.

Game of Cups This game is Team building game. You could use this game

with any achievement that involves working as a Team.

This game can be played as a small group. You could play this game inside or outside.

Place 20 or more cups in the middle of the room or on a table. Put half of the cups upside

down and the other half the right way up.

Divide the group into two teams.

Give each team a name (ie: ups or downs) – the ‘up’ team needs to turn as many cups up

the right way as possible, and the ‘downs’ team needs to turn them upside down.

Before the teams start, you allocate a time limit. When the time is up, you count all the cups

and whichever team that has the most turned up are the winners.

Tic Tac Toe This game could be used with devotions. You could also use any achievement.

You could also use this as a Team building game.

You need to set up like a noughts and crosses board. (9 chairs)

Divide the group into two teams.

Have questions that related to the devotion or achievement.

Direct the questions to alternate teams. If they get the question right, one player goes and sits on a chair. First team with three people in a row wins.

If you have a small group, you could use a white board or if you have a big group you could change it to a bigger grid or play ‘connect four’.

M & M’s Game This is a ‘Get to Know You’ game. It is a great way to help people to introduce

themselves. It’s very flexible and adaptable – and delicious too!

Instead of M & M’s, you can use Skittles, different coloured lollies.

Set Up:

Put the M & M’s or any other coloured lollies into a bowl, and put them on a table in the

middle of the room. Have everyone in the group grab as much or as little as they would like

from the bowl. Make sure that no one eats the M & M’s or Lollies right away.

How to play:

For each piece of M & M lolly they took, they will have to answer a question, depending on

its colour.

For example: * Red colour: Favourite Hobbies

* Green colour: Favourite food

* Yellow colour: Favourite Movie

* Orange colour: favourite places to travel

* Brown Colour: Most memorable or embarrassing moments

* Blue Colour: Wild Cards (They can share anything they wanted to share)

You can choose what questions that you think to fit with your group.

A Leader will call out the colour and topic and everyone will go around the room sharing 1

answer per M & M. For example: If you have two red M & Ms, you will have to name two of

your favourite hobbies. After the person has shared that colour with the group, they then can

eat the M & M. Continue to go around the room until each colour topic has been shared.

Bucket Balance This game is Team Building Game and a Messy Game.

You would need to play this game outside.

Divide the group into groups of four.

Have them to lie on their backs in a small circle with their legs sticking up in the air. Their

feet should be touching at the top, making a kind of table.

Put a bucket or bowl of water or your choice of substance (Not full), on their feet.

The aim is for all of the people in the group to remove their shoes in the given time limit,

while keeping the balance of the bucket or bowl. While one or two players are trying to take

off their shoes, the other members of the team need to keep the bucket balance and not

make to fall.

Alternately you could play this game by trying to balance the bucket and not take off their

shoes.

Transformation Game This game is based on the Girls’ Brigade Vision statement: Girls’ lives transformed,

God’s world enriched. (Created by 199th Dundas Company)

This game is played as a Rally Game.

Divide the group into three or four teams (depends on number of people), and have them

line up.

Give each group a sheet or blanket (this is representing a caterpillar). Have the first person

wrap themselves in the sheet/blanket and get them to crawl along the floor (commando

style) to the other side of the room, where a bowl with an egg (Chocolate egg or any round

shape lolly) is. That person then picks up the egg/lolly and then turns into a butterfly and

then pretends to fly (run) back to their team using the sheet/blanket as wings and then they

pass the sheet/blanket to the next person.

First team to finish is the winner.
