GAMMA LUCE has been operating on theinternational market of lighting fixtures since1970, and simultaneously, it is deeply rootedin the laborious Veneto region, where everyartistic event, even the most modern ones,continues to be linked to local traditions. At atime when high technology is continuouslyoffering new lighting sources that are aimedat improving eff iciency, GAMMADELTA-GROUP is able to create products whichshow a captivating design and are, at thesame time, also highly ornamental, withoutneglecting efficiency. All the features of thesedesign products, even the smallest ones,have been accurately studied, so as to provi-de lighting objects that are in line with thecurrent market trends, but can also guaran-tee originality and harmony. La lampada Micòl è stata progettata all'iniziodegli anni settanta e riflette la ricerca allora inatto, verso forme pure e semplificate, che traes-sero la loro immagine da rigorosi rapporti geo-metrici e dall'impiego di materiali "classici", neiquali la finitura e la lavorazione avevano un ruolodeterminante. Così la Micòl si esprime con lasovrapposizione di due forme primarie: una sferadi vetro soffiato opale bianco satinato che siappoggia su una lastra quadrata dalla finituraspecchiante, il cui lato ha misura uguale al dia-metro della sfera.

This lamp named Micòl was designed at thebeginning of the '70s. It reflects the research,which was being carried out at that time, intopure and simplified shapes deriving their imagefrom rigorous geometrical relations and from theuse of "classical" materials, in which the finishingand the manufacturing played an essential role.Therefore, Micòl finds its expression in the over-lapping of two primary shapes: a satin-finishedwhite opal blown glass globe resting on a squaresheet with a reflecting frame, the side of whichmeasures as much as the globe diameter.

Die Lampe Micòl wurde zu Beginn der 70erJahre entwickelt und gibt die damalige Suchenach reinen und vereinfachten Formen wieder,die ihr Abbild aus rigorosen geometrischenBezügen und der Verwendung „klassischer“Mater ia l ien zogen, bei denen Detai ls undVerarbeitung eine entscheidende Rolle sielten.Daher drückt sich das Modell Micòl durch diegleichzeitige Verwendung zweier Primärformenaus: eine Kugel aus geblasenem, milchweißemGlas, die auf einer quadratischen, spiegelndenScheibe ruht, deren Seitenmaß demDurchmesser der Kugel entspricht.

Being functional is the main feature of a lightingelement. The MOTION series has been providedwith the possibility of rotating the light beam by360° in all directions, thus rendering this collec-tion of modular elements extremely suitable forrooms where lighting has to guarantee functiona-lity. By developing MOTION we have achievedour objective, since its functionality perfectly mat-ches the lightness of the materials that havebeen used, and the catching design of the ligh-ting elements.

The MOTION collection has chosen not to renounce the greater efficiency of halogen light, and the use of thenew 220-volt GU10 spots has given the opportunity of avoiding the use of very low voltage (12 volts). The mainadvantage provided by this solution is low-amperage power supply and, consequently, lower voltage of theelectrical components and smaller overall dimensions, since the current transformer is no longer necessary.

In der Kollektion MOTION wollte man nicht auf die größere Effizienz des Halogenlichtes verzichten, wobei mit den neuenSpots GU10 mit 220 Volt der Einsatz der Niedrigspannung (12 Volt) vermieden wurde. Die Vorteile dieser Lösung sindvor allem die Folgenden: Strom von niedriger Amperezahl, daraus erfolgt eine geringere Beanspruchung derElektronikteile und ein geringerer Platzbedarf, da kein Spannungstransformator mehr eingesetzt wird.

Nella collezione MOTION non si è voluto rinunciare alla maggiore efficienza della luce alogena evitan-do, con i nuovi spots GU10 a 220 volts l’utilizzo della bassissima tensione (12 volts). A subtle game takes place between the structu-re and the diffusing glass. This creates an evenvisible tension in this innovative work which facesthe everlasting dilemma of the squaring of thecircle brought up-to-date by using oppositematerials. The physical tension between mat andtransparent elements is required by the up-and-down mechanism.

Dare funzionalità all'oggetto lampada quando non è accesa come quando diffonde la luce è stato lo stimolo più forte di questo progetto. Il giocodi vedersi riflessi nello specchio o illuminati dallo specchio stesso è intrigante, quanto l'idea di poter guardare da punti di vista differenti, comese in un particolare angolo della propria abitazione ci fosse la possibilità di osservarsi da fuori e da dentro.

The strongest impulse to this project was conveyed by the desire to guarantee functionality to the objectlamp both when it is switched off andwhen it diffuses light. Playing at watching oneself either reflected in the mirror, or lit up by the mirror itself proves to be as intriguing as the idea ofbeing able to look at something from different points of view, as if in a specific point of one's own house there were the opportunity of observingoneself both from the outside and from the inside.

Der größte Ansporn dieses Projektes war es, dem Objekt Lampe eine eigene Funktionalität zu geben, gleichgültig ob sie ausgeschaltet ist oderLicht ausstrahlt. Das Spiel, sich im Spiegel zu sehen, oder vom Spiegel selbst angestrahlt zu werden, ist ebenso bestechend, wie die Idee, vonverschiedenen Blickpunkten aus zu beobachten: als ob es an einer bestimmten Stelle des Zuhauses die Möglichkeit gäbe, sich gleichzeitig vondrinnen und von draußen zu beobachten.
