Gandhinagar Institute of Technology A Report on “Aapnu Amdavad, Swachh Amdavad” An Event inspired from “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” launched By Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minsiter of India Gandhinagar Institute of Technology(GIT) organized “Aapnu Amdavad, Swachchh Amdavad” on 19th January, 2016 inspired from “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” launched by PM Shri Narendrabhai Modi. It was organized from Satadhar Cross Road to Surdhara Circle Sola, Ahmedabad. In this event, 21 Teams, around 152 students along with 13 faculty members jointly did the cleaning work. By doing so, they conveyed a very strong and noble message about cleanliness to all resident people, pedestrians and people passing through vehicles. The students also prepared humorous and catchy banners and placard to disseminate the gallant message of keeping our society clean and tidy. The Director of the institute, Dr N M Bhatt said that it is our constant effort that our student get frequent and enough exposure to social activities like “Aapnu Amdavad, Swachh Amdavad” along with their technical studies with great enthusiasm. Recently, we had also organized “Traffic Awareness Program” to generate traffic sense and “Green Gujarat Cyclothon” to make people aware about environment related issues. All these Social events will help a lot to our students to become the responsible and proud citizen of India and also a Good Engineer.
