What can and can’t I put in my garden waste bin?

** Small branches = up to 90cms/36” long and 15cms/6” diameter. Larger branches can be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centres for composting.

It’s easy to recycle your garden waste!Recycling your garden waste has never been easier. For a fee, you will be provided with a wheeled bin, which we will empty weekly. Your garden waste will then be taken to a local site in Essex, where it will be turned into compost.

How much does it cost? For around a pound a week we will empty your wheeled garden waste bin weekly. The service costs £54.91 a year if you pay by credit/debit card, cheque or postal order (payable to Veolia). We also offer the service at a reduced rate of £45.78 if you pay by Direct Debit. New customers will also be charged a one-off payment of £30.60 for the cost of the bin.All subscriptions are valid for 12 months from the date of registering for the service. Direct Debits are automatically renewed each year.Alternatively you can buy Veolia’s compostable sacks via our online portal or from several outlets across the borough. How does it work? Your garden waste collection day is the same as your normal collection day. Please put everything out by 7 am and remember that collection times may vary from week to week.
