Family Art and Crafts NightWe hope that we see many of our students and parents at this Thursdays Family Arts & Crafts Night. Many of our teachers, other staffmembers, parents, and I will be helping out to make this a fun and creative family event. I dont want to forget to thank AravandiaChigati, the PTA events chairperson for organizing and leading the event!

CPR/First Aid Training - Wow and Double Wow!Although we hope it never happens, should an emergency occur, I feel very confident about the Garden Gate staff and their likelyresponse to an emergency. This past Saturday, seventeen of our staff members and nine of our parents volunteered their day by trainingto receive their CPR and First Aid certification. This brings the total number of CPR/First Aid trained staff members to 23! That is anamazing number of people at a school site who are prepared to medically help students, staff, and parents! Thank you to all of the

participants for your commitment and concern for others. Thank you to Merav Talmor and our PTA for sponsoring and funding theevent. And thank you to Citizen Core Coordinator, Ken Ericksen from the city of Cupertino, as well as OES trainers, Stuart Chessen,John Muskivitch, and former Garden Gate parent, Nina Daruwalla.

National Geographic Bee - Amey Kapare School-wide Champion! If you have ever wondered about rafting on the Upper Navua River, but werent sure exactly where it is located, join the crowd.

However, if you were one of our 4th

    and 5th

grade students who participated in our National Geo Bee on Monday, you very well mayknow its location! Congratulations to all of our geo-savvy students who participated and congratulations to Amey Kapare, our 1st placewinner, Lokesh Ravichandram, 2nd place winner, and Kinjal Halder, 3rd place winner. Many thanks to our 4th and 5th grade teachers for

providing the opportunity for our students to participate and special thanks to Sarah Schwinge for coordinating the whole event!
