Gaura are deservedly popular perennials grown world wide because they are so easy to grow. ‘Rosy Jane’ grows equally well in sunny gardens and garden pots.The flowers of ‘Rosy Jane’ which are borne in abundance in spring, summer and autumn completely cover the bush and dance in any wind that blows. A truly delightful effect like lots of butterflies adrift on the breeze is achieved. ‘Rosy Jane’ is a flowering perennial suitable for Australasian gardens with little need of care once established.Flowers of ‘Rosy Jane’ last well in floral arrangements.

Gauras come to us from the plains of North America, Gaura. lindheimeri which is native in the USA from Louisiana to Texas is dominant in most Gauras commercialized in the market place. Gaura ’siskyou Pink’ is one of the parents of ‘Rosy Jane’. ‘Rosy Jane’ was bred and grown to maturity in Great Britain and Ireland. It is marketed around the world and is growing and performing well in Europe and the USA.

Uses

Plant in flower borders in full sun where the two toned picotee flowers with colours of white with pink borders to each individual bloom which brings the garden to life.Planted in larger pots to use around patios, on terraces and barbeque areas are some of the best uses.

CARe

Basic care for Gaura will give you a few years of pleasure from your ‘Rosy Jane’.After planting in your well-draining fertile garden bed mulch around the plant and water it in. Very little water is needed from then on once your plant is established.Once ‘Rosy Jane’ has grown and flowered it may begin to look open and a bit shabby. Prune back to encourage more flowers to develop. Apply a balanced fertilizer and water well, that’s all you need to do.
