Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) is an independent (non-government) and non-profit institution that is fully committed to educating building professionals AS WELL AS the community, to apply appropriate technologies and environmental best practices in facilitating market and societal transformation towards a more sustainable Indonesian and global building industry GBCI developed the first and only Indonesian Green Building Certification specifically for the Indonesian tropical market and the energy rating assessment tools called GREENSHIP. It is competing with LEED (US) and GREENMARK (SG). More buildings in Indonesia are GREENSHIP certified

Green Buildings Impact in Indonesia
GBCI is currently developing estimates of GBCI’s Greenship-Certified Green Buildings impact in terms of USD/IDR energy savings, employment, value of the green buildings compared to traditional buildings and other economic and socio-environmental indicators. We believe that producing such indicators can expand and maintain the level of “buy-in” from key stakeholders.

Why Regula3ons CAN deliver our Future today
(1) Government’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) released Sustainable/Green Financing Roadmap (2014) offers prudential, financial and other incentives (see above). Aims: (a) set the conditions needed to achieve sustainable finance in medium and long term, (b) determine and develop milestones showing improvements related to sustainable finance.
(2) This roadmap acknowledges that Indonesian economy currently still exhibits wasteful traits in terms of energy usage as well as environmental degradation & attempts to remove barriers
(3) Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM) is seriously promoting the “Energy Savings Performance Contract” financing and “Energy Service Companies (ESCO)” business model . On 22 April 2016, “ESCO Core Regulation/Ministerial Decree”
