GE’s InfusionTM LED Modules deliver bright, clear light in a flexible lighting solution THE SITUATION

U.K. department store John Lewis moved to energy-efficient LED technology to support its corporate social responsibility goal of reducing energy consumption in its stores by 20% in 10 years.

THE SOLUTION

John Lewis partnered with GE Lighting for the initial trial of LED technology and for the final installation at its new Ipswich store using GE’s Infusion™ LED Modules with Edge Lighting luminaires.

When it came to installing LED lighting at Ipswich, John Lewis had specific criteria that included a color temperature requirement of 3000K warm white combined with precise light control via a 15-degree narrow beam optical system.

Designed for ambient and accent lighting, GE’s Infusion LED Module is one of the most flexible lighting solutions on the market, with applications extending across many types of luminaires. The twist-in LED module enables the entire LED engine to be removed and upgraded in seconds.

“ We opted for GE Lighting’s Infusion LED Module because, not only did it meet all of John Lewis’ lighting criteria, it had a twist-and-lock capability, which I wanted to embrace. This means we can relamp easily—replacing the LED engines for future energy savings, and if we need to change the beam angle or color temperatures to suit the product.”

Along with the environmental benefits, LEDs deliver a bright, clear, white light that aids visual comfort and ensures colors are true to life.
