The wide range of Prolec line of transformers for the utility, residential, commercial, industrial, and energy

markets, provide flexible, reliable, and robust designs to support various substation and power plant

applications. GE’s line of accessories and state-of-the-art monitoring and diagnostics can complement

your transformer solution to ensure performance optimization during the life of the equipment.

To utilities and industrials, the Prolec line of power transformers are the product of choice because they

deliver the reliability and performance required due to their design, manufacturing and support

characteristics. These characteristics aid our customers in offering the best level of energy supply. The

Prolec line of power transformers include: Step down, Generator Step-up, Autotransformers, Shunt

Reactors, and Auxiliaries for both Single and Three Phase application.

5 - 1000 MVA maximum rating

Up to 1675 KV BIL

High Voltage up to 550 KV

Low Voltage up to 230 KV

50 or 60 Hz

On Load and De Energized tap changers

The line of Prolec liquid-filled distribution transformers meet or exceed applicable ANSI/IEEE standards.

With high voltages up to 34.5kV for transformers up to 15MVA and up to 69kV for capacities from

5 to 12 MVA, the Prolec line of transformers are used in a wide range of residential, commercial and

industrial applications. High-grade materials, combined with sophisticated engineering design systems

are key elements of a transformer that will deliver years of high-reliability service.

Transformers are operated in parallel within grids to serve multiple customers; individual transformer

failures do not interrupt service to any customers on the grid. GE's network transformers provide superior

corrosion protection using Reeves zinc-rich epoxy coating. Computer aided design tools help yield one of

the highest KVA per cubic foot of vault space available in the industry today.

Achieving high reliability for critical loads and high-density load areas are challenges that our network

transformers can help you overcome. Optimal voltage control can be achieved with our microprocessor

controlled voltage regulators and our power factor correction equipment which delivers the power quality

that customers demand.

Voltage regulators are used by IOU, REC, municipal, and industrial customers to automatically maintain,

or regulate, system voltage levels within a pre-set band width. GE's voltage regulators are recognized for

designs that have long life with low maintenance expenses.

For a century, utilities and other equipment manufactures have relied on GE to deliver electrical products

and services to meet their quality, durability and performance needs. Today, our grid and asset

management suite, advanced distribution infrastructure solution and substation management tools enable

utilities to deliver customer care, system reliability, and operating efficiency. Our capacitor product line is

an integral part of our portfolio. GE provides power capacitors that meet ANSI® / IEEE® and IEC®

standards. Our low voltage capacitors are UL® Listed. Ratings range from 1 kVAR to 500 MVAR, from

240 volts to 500 KV.

Designed to meet IEC 871, IEEE 18 and CSA® ratings, capacitor units for power factor correction

applications have been made to meet your diverse needs for increased durability and tolerance of

harmonics and transients. They have ratings of 25 to 1,000 kVAR from 2.4 kV to 25 kV.

Stack Rack equipment is installed in welded aluminum racks and are shipped ready for field installation

with base and inter-rack insulators, substructure, interconnecting bus wire and other accessories for a

three-phase equipment. Pole Top Equipment is pre-wired, factory assembled, and shipped ready for pole

installation with single-phase units or three-phase units.

GE’s industry leading Low Voltage Capacitors include GEMATIC™ Quick Response Fast Switching PFC,

Fixed Motor and Pump PFC, GEM® Fixed PFC, GEMTRAP® Fixed PFC with Harmonic Filter, Matrix™

Harmonic Filter, and Switched Power Factor Correction.

These power factor correction products are metal enclosed for indoor and outdoor installations. These

banks can be located on a distribution feeder as a small padmount or at the workstation site. Metal

Enclosed Harmonic Filter Banks should be considered when power factor correction is desired in a

harmonic environment.
