We developed the NX Series especially for your high-
performance HVAC systems and applications where
extremely small temperature differences and high
pressure resistance are required.
The strengths of our new heat exchangers come to
force especially in high buildings and extreme climate
zones. And because numerous separate systems can
be replaced by a single central unit, space can be saved
with a resulting reduction in the costs for investments,
operation and maintenance. In addition our plate heat
exchangers are powerful, efficient and reliable – guaran-
teed by the name GEA PHE Systems.

We are certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 and meet the demands in the sector of gasketed, brazed
and fully welded plate heat exchangers.
Our manufacturing is based on the European Pressure Vessel Directive 97/23 EC using
engineering standard AD-2000 – Versions according to ASME and AHRI 400 are also possible.
OptiWave Design
The optimised wave configura-
tion ensures good flow behaviour
across the entire plate width, re-
sulting in optimum heat transfer
rates.
EcoLoc gasket system
The innovative adhesive-free
EcoLoc gaskets guarantee fast and
uncomplicated gasket replacement.
PosLoc fitting
The self-centering system of the
NX Series ensures stable, perfectly
aligned plate packs. The gaskets
are positioned exactly on top of
each other and remain functioning
for longer.
The OptiWave plate design and the EcoLoc gaskets guarantee the highest heat transfer rates and extreme
pressure stability with above-average safety reserves. The pressure resistance is up to 27,5 bars in the
standard plate heat exchanger. This is equivalent to a water column of 275 metres height. The temperature
approach can be up to 0.5 Kelvin and therefore capable of meeting even the most demanding requirements.
The narrow flow gap and the specific corrugation of the plates result in many metal contact points that
guarantee the special pressure resistance of the equipment.
The advantages of the NX Series at a glance
High pressure resistance
Outstanding energy efficiency
Low costs for investment, operation
and maintenance
Compact, space-saving design
Fast and reliable gasket replacement
CertificationPowerful engineering
Tailor-made service on location
With its service organisation GEA EcoServe GEA PHE Systems can offer fast and competent
customer services in many countries throughout the world – also for makes from other
manufacturers on request. We use only high-quality original spare parts for maintenance and
repair. This guarantees a reliable fit, optimum function and a long service life. As a manu-
facturer we keep all spare parts in stock or can manufacture these at short notice, if required.

In addition to power, heat and water, today district cooling also counts among the modern forms of utility
services. Whole buildings and districts can be supplied with centrally generated cold water for air conditioning.
This is also known as long-distance cooling. A refrigeration unit provides sufficient performance for a large
number of buildings or even for a complete neighbourhood. In this respect a large number of conventional
air conditioning units and cooling systems can be replaced. District cooling systems also save up to 40 percent
energy in comparison with conventional concepts.
More challenging conditions are found in skyscrapers, in particular due to their height. Pumps have to trans-
port the cold water from the basement right up to the top storeys. The plate heat exchangers in a central unit
are therefore subjected to extreme operating pressures.
District cooling systems are used especially in regions with extreme climate conditions to provide air condi-
tioning for residential areas, shopping malls and industrial estates. The high outside temperatures represent a
particularly demanding challenge for the loading capacity of the plate heat exchangers. With its new NX Series
GEA PHE Systems is providing powerful and economically sensible district cooling components capable of
meeting even the highest demands.
