From Fabric F, cut:seven 4-1/2” x WOF strip. Sew together, end-to-end, then trim:
two 4-1/2” x 8-1/2” rectangles for the flying geese two 4-1/2” x 73-1/2” side outer borders two 4-1/2” x 60-1/2” top/bottom outer borders
From Fabrics G, cut:one 9” x WOF strip. Subcut:
two 9” x 10-1/2” rectangles for the block centersone 4-1/2” x WOF strip. Subcut:
four 4-1/2” x 8-1/2” rectangles for the flying geese
Step 1: Place a 4-1/2” Fabric D square RST at one end of a Fabric E rectangle. Mark a diagonal line on the wrong side of the square, as shown. Sew on the marked line and trim away the excess fabric, leaving a 1/4” seam allowance. Press toward the triangle.
Assemble the Flying Geese Sections
Step 2: Repeat Step 1 at the remaining end of the rectangle. The resulting flying geese blockshould measure 4-1/2” x 8-1/2”.
Step 3: Repeat with all remaining 4-1/2” x 8-1/2” Fabric E and Grectangles. Note that the orientation of the triangles in the lowerright flying geese section is pointing downward, so be careful inorienting the cranes in the flying geese blocks.
Step 4: Sew the Flying Geese Section together, as shown, placing the Fabric D rectangles and strips where indicated.

Step 5: Sew a 1-1/2” x 10-3/4” Fabric C block border to the left and right edges of each Fabric B and G block center. Press. Sew a 1-1/2” x 11” Fabric C block border to the top and bottom edges of each block. Press.
Assemble the Block Sections
Step 6: Sew the Block Sections together, as shown, placing the Fabric D rectangles and strips where indicated. Press. You will make two of each section. Note the fabric placement in the Quilt Assembly Diagram.

Assemble the Center Panel
Step 7: Sew a 1-3/4” x 40-1/2” Fabric C center panel border to the left and right edges of the Fabric A Center Panel. Press. Sew a 1-3/4” x 25” Fabric C center panel border to the top and bottom edges of the Fabric A Center Panel. Press.
Sew a 2” x 43” Fabric D strip to the left and right edges of the Fabric A Center Panel. Press. Sew a 2” x 28” Fabric D strip to the top and bottom edges of the Fabric A Center Panel. Press.

Assemble the Quilt
Step 8: Sew the upper Block Section to the top of the Center Panel Section. Press. Sew the lower Block Section to the bottom of the Center Panel Section. Press.
Step 9: Sew the upper Flying Geese Section to the top of the Side Block Section, noting the orientation in the Quilt Assembly Diagram. Press. Sew to the left edge of the quilt. Repeat with the right edge of the quilt, taking care to note the block orientations.
Step 10: Sew the side inner borders to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the top and bottom inner borders to the quilt center. Press toward the borders.
Step 11: Sew the side outer borders to the sides of the quilt center. Press toward the borders. Sew the top and bottom outer borders to the quilt center. Press toward the borders.
Your quilt top is complete! Baste, quilt, bind and enjoy!
