The project is implemented by Gems and Jewellery Training and Manufacturing Centre, Quetta. The primary aim of the Project promoted by the grant is provision and introduction workplace-based training in Balochistan, particularly, Teaching Factory Concept. This overall objective is defined by the following benchmarks:
Ÿ Skills sup-gradation and capacity-building of Gems and Jewellery sector in Balochistan by provision of demand-driven occupational courses in the selected trades;
Ÿ Provision of these demand-driven occupational courses to 100 trainees using the teaching factory concept of delivery;
Ÿ Providing workplace-based learning opportunities, including exposure to modern tools and machineries, to 100 trainees by end 2018;
INTRODUCTION
The TVET Sector Support Programme promotes an active partnership between technical education and vocational training (TVET) institutes and private sector for imparting industry demand-driven training. The workplace-based training approach provides trained human resource to the employers according to their need, thus, increasing t h e c h a n c e s o f e m p l o y m e n t s o f graduates. The involved enterprises and business industry associations are e n g a g e d i n s e l e c t i n g r e l e v a n t qualifications, planning and delivering training, and conducting assessments w i t h i n t h e n a t i o n a l q u a l i fi c a t i o n framework of Pakistan.
The Programme provides technical support to training institutes and enterprises to link theoretical with practical training at the workplace. In this regard, both sides can agree on flexible approaches in training delivery, which meet the demands of the involved enterprises.
