This user’s manual is designed to be a reference tool for the installation and operation of your
system.
Here you can find information about features and functions, as well as a detailed menu.
Before installation and operation please read the following safeguards and warnings carefully!

Important Safeguards and Warnings
1.Electrical safety
All installation and operation here should conform to your local electrical safety codes.
We assume no liability or responsibility for all the fires or electrical shock caused by improper
handling or installation.
2.Transportation security
Heavy stress, violent vibration or water splash are not allowed during transportation, storage and
installation.
3.Installation
Keep the device upwards. Handle it with care.
Do not apply power to the device before completing installation.
Do not place objects on the device.
4.Qualified engineers needed
All the examination and repair work should be done by the qualified service engineers.
We are not liable for any problems caused by unauthorized modifications or attempted repair.
5.Environment
The device should be installed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, inflammable,
explosive substances and etc.
6. Accessories
Be sure to use all the accessories recommended by manufacturer.
Before installation, please open the package and check all the components are included.
Contact your local retailer ASAP if something is broken in your package.
7. Lithium battery
Improper battery use may result in fire, explosion, or personal injury!
When replace the battery, please make sure you are using the same model!

1 Product Overview
1.1 Introduction
The General Alarm Controller is a multifunctional alarm device combining Ethernet, PSTN
network, GPRS transmission approach, and support for keypad programming and remote control.
The products are mainly used in intelligent building alarm systems, residential homes and
perimeter alarm systems, building security systems, as well as factories, schools, warehousing
and other large security systems. It allows management on access platform software, easy to
integrate with other systems.

10/100M self-adaptive network port.
IP net, GPRS/GSM net, PSTN net alarm upload.
Alarm link output and event trigger output.
4-ch local alarm output. ARC2008C series product also supports 8-ch local alarm
input. ARC2016C series product 16-ch local alarm input.
1-ch controller alarm bell output (12V DC).
1 operator, 1 main user, 1 duress user, 20 operation users.
24-hour zone, instant zone, delay zone.
5 groups of mobile phone setup with alarm SMS.
CID (Contact ID protocol), support reuse of phone.

2 Device Installation and Wiring
2.1 Device Installation
2.1.1 Project Installation
The product supports wall-mount and steps are listed below:
Step 1. Open device package, take out plastic expansion bolt and self-tapping screw.
Step 2. Follow Figure 2- 1 to dig five holes on wall.
Step 3. Insert palstic expansion bold, and insert four self-tapping screws around it (do not insert
the one at center for now).
Step 4. Hang the device on the screw, then insert a self-tapping screw at center.

2.1.2 Motherboard Module Installation
General Alarm Controller sometimes requires manual installation for its module which includes
wireless, 2G and PSTN.
Please read the following steps:

1) Open cover.
2) Align pin on PSTN module with plug on motherboardm and insert.
3) Aim the four corners of PSTN module at expansion bolt and press downward, fix on
motherboard.
4) Take out wireless module and convertor , insert one end of convertor into wireless module.
5) Fix wireless module on chassis with screw.

6) Insert the other end of convertor into plug on motherboard.
7) Twist in antenna of wireless module.
8) Take out 2G module and convertor, insert one end of convertor into 2G module.
9) Fix 2G module on chassis with screw.

10) Insert the other pin end of convertor into plug on motherboard.
11) Twist in 2G module antenna.
2.2 Keypad Installation
The device supports wall mount and portable operation. For wall mount, please refer to the
following steps.
Step 1. Open device package, take out expansion bolt and self-tapping screw.
Step 2. Dig two holes on wall at a spacing of 64mm, see Figure 2- 2. Place expansion bolt and
twist in self-tapping screw.
Step 3. Hang the device on the screw.

2.3 Wiring
2.3.1 Controller Wiring

2.3.4 Keypad Wiring
Port B and A of keypad are connected to port B and A of alarm controller respectively. (for 485
COM). “-“ and “+” interfaces are connected to GND port and AUX port respectively. See Figure
2- 7.

3 SDK Client You can login alarm controller’s SDK client to view and configure parameters of alarm controller
3.1 Login
To login alarm controller SDK client:
Step 1. In “AlarmDeviceDemo\Bin” folder, double click “AlarmDevice.exe” file. System enters net
SDK client homepage, see Figure 3- 1.

Step 2. Enter device IP, port no., username and password. Click Login.
Note:
IP: device IP address, default is 192.169.1.108.
Port no.: default is 37777.
Username: admin
Password: admin
Click logout to logout.
3.2 Device Configuration
You can configure device on zone on/off, alarm output, arm/disarm, mobile business, network,
time, bypass, serial and etc.
3.2.1 Modify Password
You can change system password.
Step 1. In Control&Search dropdown list, select modify password.

Step 3. Enter username, old password, new password and confirm.
Step 4. Click Modify.
3.2.2 Network
You can setup network including device IP address, subnet mask and gateway.
Step 1. In homepage dropdown list, select Network.
Step 2. Click config. See Figure 3- 3.

Step 4. Click Setup.
Note:
IP: device IP address, default IP is :192.168.1.108.
Default subnet mask is:255.255.255.0.
Default gateway is:192.168.1.1.

3.2.3 Time
You can set time and get time.
Step 1. In Control&Search dropdown list, select device time.
Step 2. Click Control&Search, system shows current SDK system time, see Figure 3- 4.

3.2.4 On/Off Zone
On/off zone configuration includes local alarm input channel, zone, sensor type and alarm link.
Step 1. In homepage dropdown list on the right, select on/off zone.
Step 2. Click Setup. See Figure 3- 5.

Click get to display existing configuration.

Instant zone Delay zone All-day zone
Enter Delay Time enter zone, when zone type is delay zone, if enter delay is 10s, then when zone alarm is triggered, user has 10S to disarm. If user successfully disarms within 10S, it will not link alarm. Otherwise, it alarms.
Exit Delay Time exit zone, when zone type is delay zone, if exit delay is 10s, then when user set arming, which come into effect in 10s.
Sensor Type According to sensor type, select NO or NC.
Sensor Method Device supports the following sensor method:

Link When there is alarm input, you may auto link alarm output channel, please refer to step 5.
Root Node No. 0 means local zone type.
Level 1 Cascading Address
According to root node zone no. When root node is 0, for example local zone is 16-ch, then level 1 cascading addresses are 0~15, correspond to local zone Z1~Z16. Level 2 cascading address are not used in this case.

Step 4. Click next to link setup. See Figure 3- 6.

Step 5. (Optional) When period arming is required, you must manually set arming period, you
can set different periods in different weeks by checking box next to each period. Do not
check box of period you do not want to enable. Period cycle unit is week.

Step 7. Click OK. Return to On/Off Zone configuration page.
Step 8. Click Setup to set complete.
3.2.5 Alarm Subsystem
The device supports 4 subsystems, you can set zone of each subsystem. Only subsystem with
zone can arm and disarm.
Step 1. In homepage config dropdown list, select alarm subsystem.
Step 2. Click Config. The system shows alarm subsystem config interface, see Figure 3- 7. Click
Get to current current config.

Click ,pop up subsystem extension zone interface, to
view and set extension zone allocated by current subsystem, clic OK. (not supported by this alarm controller)
Cancel Delay Time
If “cancel delay time” is set to 10s,after delay zone alarm in this
subsystem is triggered, a user has 10s to disarm. If within 10s the user successfully disarms, then it will not link to alarm. If not, it will link to alarm. . (not supported by this alarm controller)
Enable Delay Time
If “enable delay time” is set to 10s, after a user sets arming, the delay zone will be armed in 10s.(not supported by this alarm controller)
Public System
Check it, the subsystem becomes public, and may link to 2 subsystems. Note: After link, only when both public subsystem and linked subsystems are enabled, the publib subsystem can be enabled, othweise, it is invalid. Please refer to Ch 3.2.6.
Linked Subsystem
Click ,select linked subsystem, click OK.
Note: Must link to two subsystems. Between public subsystems, the linked subsystems cannot be
repeated. Cannot add other public subsystem as linked subsystem.

Step 4. Click set.

Only when a device disarms, you can set subsystem.
3.2.6 Subsystem Status
You can enable or disable subsystem status:
Step 1. In homepage “Control&Search” dropdown list, select alarm subsystem.
Step 2. Click “Control&Search”. The system shows alarm subsystem interface, see Figure 3- 9.
Click Get, you can get config info of current system.

Step 4. Check enable status to enable this subsystem which means this subsystem is normally
working.
Step 5. Click Setup.
Note:
Only subsystem with zone can be enabled. Subsystem without zone will be failed.
3.2.7 Alarm Output
You can configure corresponding channel alarm output mode.
Step 1. In homepage dropdown list, select alarm output config.
Step 2. Click Setup. See Figure 3- 10.

Step 4. Configure parameters. Please refer to Chart 3- 4.
Parameter Note
Channel No. Select configured channel no. The device supports 4-ch alarm outs.
Channel Name Customize channel name.
Output Type Customize output alarm name.

Enforced:Enforce channel to alarm.

3.2.8 Call Alarm Center
You can set call center parameter. When alarm occurs, the system will send alarm info to call
center.
Step 1. In homepage Config dropdown list, select call alarm center config.

3.2.9 SMS
The device supports SMS service, you can bind mobile phone number. When alarm event of
battery, power, outage and etc. occur, the system will send SMS to specific mobile phone
number. Meantime, the specific mobile phone user can send command to operate.
See Chart 3- 7.

To set specific user:
Step 1. In homepage config dropdown list, select Mobile Business config.
Step 2. Click Config. The system displays Mobile Config interface, see Figure 3- 12.

Step 3. Check Enable, to enable this business.
Step 4. Select message type and enter title.
Step 5. Set number of user who you want the system send message to.
In receiver box, enter mobile phone number, click to add that number into list; or select a
number in the list, click to delete.
Note:
Max supports 5 groups of number.
Step 6. Click Set.
3.2.10 Enrollment
You can set low-rate wireless WPAN, to enroll wireless remote control to the controller:
Step 1. In homepage “Control&Search” dropdown list, select low-rate wireless WPAN.
Step 2. Click “Control&Search”. The system shows low-rate wireless APAN, see Figure 3- 13.

Step 3. Click Attach and press any key on wireless remote control. If enrollment is successful,
you can see Figure 3- 14.

Click stop subscription, to cancel wireless enrollment.
Click search to search for enrollment info.
Click modify to modify enrollment info.
Click remove to delete wireless device.
3.2.11 Arm/Disarm
Step 1. In Control&Search dropdown list, select arm/disarm.
Step 2. Click Control&Search. See Figure 3- 15.

When a zone has input, click Set, so arming will fail. Now you can click of
zone with alarm input, to view current abnormal zone. Then force it to arm, you can bypass
abnormal zone to make arming successful.
3.2.12 Bypass
When device is in arming status, a zone is still monitoring peripheral sensor and take record,
however, it will not send to users. When a device changes from disarming status to arming status,
original bypass zone will become normal status as in arming status.
Step 1. In Control&Search dropdown list, select bypass.
Step 2. Click Control&Search. See Figure 3- 16.

a) Select channel and mode, enter password.
Note:
You can select the following three modes:
Normal: channel is in normal status.
Bypass: If zone is bypass, when it is disarming, channel mode will return to
normal.
Isolation: If zone is isolated, when it is disarming, channel mode will still be
isolated.
b) Click Setup.
Note:
After you select channel, click Search, system will auto display channel mode.
3.2.13 File Upload and Download
Step 1. In Control&Search dropdown list, select upload/download.
Step 2. Click Control&Search. See Figure 3- 17.

Step 3. Click file and select file (suffix as .bin). Input file name is dhip_kb.bin.
Step 4. Click upload, the keypad starts to upgrade.
Note:
Overtime: When upload or download time exceeds this time limit and operation is not
complete, it will return error code. We recommend to set time to 500s.
3.2.14 Battery Search
You can search battery’s power and status.
Step 1. In Control&Search dropdown list on the right, select battery power.
Step 2. Click Control&Search. See Figure 3- 18.

Note:
Power no.: power 1 represents main power (AC 220V).
Power status: “ON” means power supply is normal. “OFF” means power supply ha
leakage, and will generate corresponding alarm event.
Battery no.: Battery 1 represents backup battery.
Battery capacity status: it shows current battery capacity. When battery voltage is
below 10V, status is 0 and generate low-voltage alarm event.
3.2.15 Get Alarm Channel Status
You can search status of each alarm channel.
Step 1. In Control&Search dropdown list, select channel status.
Step 2. Click Control&Search. See Figure 3- 19.

Step 3. Select search type, and fill in quantity of channel to search. Click Get.
Note:
Alarm input channel: corresponding alarm source, if “status” is checked, it means
alarm occurs.
Alarm output channel: corresponding alarm output channel, if the channel is checked,
it means it has output. Under NO status, it is checked when relay is closed.
Alarm bell channel: corresponding alarm bell, checked if alarm bell has output.
Extension module alarm input: corresponding extension alarm source, when “status”
is checked, it means alarm occurs.
Extension module alarm output: corresponding alarm output channel checked if the
channel has output.

3.2.16 Get Active Zone Status
You can search if each zone is active.
Step 1. In Control&Search dropdown list, select get active zone, click Control&Search. See
Figure 3- 20.

Step 2. Click get, active zone chart will show corresponding active zone channel no. and
activation time. You can cancel alarm with this informatin given.
3.3 Device Management
3.3.1 Device Capacity
In homepage click device capacity, you can see Figure 3- 21, where you can view alarm
controller capacity in processing alarm input/output and etc.

3.3.2 Siren Control
You can control siren output.
Step 1. In Control&Search dropdown list select alarm bell control.
Step 2. Click Control&Search.

Click enable alarm bell output to start output.
Click disable alarm bell output to stop output.
3.3.3 Alarm Subscription
You can subscribe alarm event and cancel alarm in channel.
In homepage click alarm subscribe, see Figure 3- 23.

Click subscribe event, device will report current alarm and abnormal event one by one.
On the right in the interface, select channel no. anf event type to cancel alarm, fill in
password, click cancel alarm to remove alarm event.
Note:
After you subscribe, if alarm input is triggered, before it is triggered, device will auto
report its corresponding channel and time of event. After it is triggered, device will
auto report Stop event of current channel at current time.
Power failure or vandal-proof is triggered, system will report both events.
Alarm cancellation is a re-check after alarm source is triggered and linked output.
After alarm is cancelled, device will close corresponding alarm source’s link output.
3.3.4 Log Management
You can view log information in log management.
Step 1. In Control&Search dropdown list, select log management.
Step 2. Click Control&Search. See Figure 3- 24.

Step 3. Select log type and time.
Step 4. Click search. Then you can start to view log.
3.3.5 Delete Log
You can delete all logs by click Clear Log in Figure 3- 24.
3.3.6 Reset
You can reset device to default settings.

3.3.7 Remote Upgrade
You can remotely upgrade the device.
Step 1. In Control&Search dropdown list, select remote upgrade.

Under normal condition, when upgrading file is uploaded successfully, device will auto

4.1 Before Use

4.1.2 Wall Mount
The device supports wall mount and portable operation. For wall mount, please refer to the
following steps.
Step 1. Open device package, take out “plastic expansion bolt” and “self-tapping screw”.
Step 2. Dig two holes on wall with a separation distance of 64mm. Insert the “plastic expansion
bolt” and tighten “self-tapping screw”.

4.1.3 Wiring
For example, bank alarm controller (ARC2016U), its keypad “B” and “A” ports are connected to
alarm controller for port B1 and A1 of 485 communication. “-“ and “+” are connected to G and
+12V ports of alarm controller.

4.1.4 Boot Up
Device supports hot swap function. When the controller operates as normal, connect keypad
wiring end to port at keypad bottom, the COM indicator flashes saying the function is normal.
Note:
When you first connect to controller, you need to select controller model, you can use it once
being successfully registered to controller.
4.1.5 Model Selection
When alarm keypad first connect to the controller, you need to select language and model of
alarm controller before you can register it to alarm controller and enter corresponding interface.
Step 1. Separately connect two ends of wire to port B and port A on alarm controller and port G,
+12V port.
Step 2. Press key, meantime insert one end of wire into keypad port. Keypad interface is ON
and shoes language option.
Step 3. By pressing or key, select appropriate language, press button. Enter

alarm controller model selection page.
Step 4. By pressing or , select corresponding product model, press key. The
keypad generate a sound, shows homepage and COM indicator flashes, means auto
registration is successful. Keypad and alarm controller can have communication.
Note:
If you select wrong model, then registration will fail and COM indicator will not flash.

4.2.3 Arm
When alarm controller and sensor work as normal, arm zone via alarm keypad, alarm controller
response the alarm signal in zone.
Quick Arm
Operation method: before you enter any menu interface, input administrator password/operator
password.
Operation result: if the controller buzzers once, then you have successfully armed. If the
controller buzzer for three times, then you failed to arm, and you must check whether there is
zone input and you may force it to arm.
Note:
For quick arm, when the device is armed, you may directly enter password, then the device
disarms and alarm will be cancelled. If the device is disarmed and no 24-hour zone alarm is
triggered, input password, then device arms. If the device is disarmed and 24-hour zone alarm is
triggered, input password, then device cancels alarm to remain disarmed.
General Arm
Operation method: [arm type encode]+[OK]+[Admin password/operator password]

5 FAQ
1. Q: I cannot boot up the device properly after plug it to power supply.
Input power is not correct.
Switch power line contact is not good.
Switch power supply is broken.
Program upgrading error.
Chassis internal wiring is reverse or loose.
Alarm controller motherboard is broken.
ON mode dial switch 2 is at ON position, the configuration of ON mode is incorrect.
2. Q: Alarm controller will automatically reboot or frequently crashes minutes after
startup
Input voltage is unstable or too low.
Program file is damaged.
Alarm controller hardware failure.
3. Q: Unable to connect to the network after startup
Network cable is not plugged in.
IP, mask, gateway are not configured correctly.
Abnormal network environment.
Alarm controller is not fully boot up.

4. Q: Single channel, multi-channel, all alarm input without input event uploading
Program does not match, re-upgrade the correct program.
Switch zone is configured incorrectly, you may bypass both.

5. Q: Single channel, multi-channel, all without alarm output
Linkage is not configured correctly, without successfully enabled.

Network disconnected.
Harsh network environment, within the same network device network communication rate
is too low.
Setup error.

Check:
Keypad, power supply is normal.
Keypad end 120Ω resistor is at normal dial position, which is the ON position.
Incorrect wiring.
Alarm controller serial port settings are incorrect.
Mismatch of alarm keypad and alarm controller protocol.
When connected to multiple keypads, keypad AB line’s furthest end needs additonal 120
ohm resistor to eliminate reflections and impedance matching, otherwise it will cause
the keypad to communicate instable

8. Q: Cannot login Client or WEB
ActiveX controls are blocked.
Dx8.1 or higher is not installed, upgrade the video driver.
Network connection failure.

the line resistor connection.
An alarm device simultaneously access two loops.
12. Q: Cannot play downloaded file
Player is not installed.
DX8.1 or higher graphics acceleration software is not installed.
Files in AVI format is played by MEDIA PLAYER, the computer is not installed with
DivX503Bundle.exe plug-in.
Win XP operating system to be installed with DivX503Bundle.exe and ffdshow-2004
1012 .exe.
