Fixed Roof Tanks—Carbon and Stainless Steel

Land & Marine has been designing, fabricating and constructing fixed roof tanks for over 40 years and widely experienced in this field The majority of fixed roof tanks fall into two main categories—coned and domed roof. Theses tanks are designed to BSEN 14015 and API 650, or where a customer specifies and internal pressure up to 1 bar, API 620 is utilised. These tanks are generally used to store bulk liquids that do not boil at normal storage temperatures. Shell thickness is determined by weight of product stored and applicable loadings such as wind, snow or seismic. The codes used are appropriate for tanks utilised in the petroleum industry, however we are capable of modi-fying codes to suit other industries. We pride ourselves in our ability to design and con-struct storage tanks tailor made to customers specific requirement, both safely and cost effectively.

Floating Roof Tanks—Double Deck & Pontoon As specialists in floating roof tanks, our experienced en-gineers have the expertise to help customers select the most appropriate design for their specific requirements. Properly operated and monitored floating roof tanks re-duce emission and evaporation losses, inhibit tank corro-sion, assist in fire protection and protect oxygen sensitive products. Double Deck The double deck roof is recommended for products with a higher vapour pressure and geographical areas requiring high stable design. The trapped air space formed by the double deck provided effective product insulation during normal operation.. The underside of the roof is in con-stant contact with the stored liquid Pontoon Roof Designed for maximum buoyancy with minimum struc-tural material and low maintenance, the pontoon roof is excellent low cost method to achieve stored product pro-tection.

Tank Refurbishment

With a wealth of experience in refurbishing storage tanks, both on term contract and one off basis, Land & Marine offer s a cost ef-fective, safe and reliable service. All tanks need to be inspected regularly and corrective maintenance carried out by quali-fied engineers to ensure the constraints of the appropriate codes are adhered to. Cosmetic patching is often not cost effec-tive and can create a need for major repairs to be carried out in the long term.

The main areas to suffer rust corrosion are generally water traps, in particular the shell to annular plates, wind girder and complete floors. Tank Shell Replacements Individual shell rings can be replaced at any location on existing tanks using hy-draulic jacking systems

Tank Floor Replacements Replacement annulars or complete floors replacements provide the only insurance that products are not leaking into the surrounding ground or water tables. The retrospective installation of impervious membranes under tanks is an area of specialism at Land & Marine. Our experts regularly use the hydraulic jacking system to facilitate repairs to the tank floor.

Tank Roofs—Fixed & Floating Fixed roof structures can be repaired or replaced in total taking due account of applicable wind, snow and seismic load-ings. Floating roofs are generally pontoon type, single deck or double deck and we have successfully replaced sections and com-plete roofs on a number of large tanks.
