MORE DETAILED INFORMATION

Arrival Time: Unloading time starts at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 25, 2018 and will continue up until 9:00 pm. Saturday and Sunday move in will be from 7:00 am to 8:00 am. There is ample unloading room, but vehicles must be moved from the show barn area immediately after unloading and moved to designated fairground parking areas. The show and all pens will be located in the Delashmutt Arena (see attached map). Loading and unloading will take place in the back side of the arena. As you enter the main entrance of the fairgrounds, take the first right. The arena will be on your left. Continue to drive around to the back of the arena. Parking & camping is located behind the horse barns. Signs with directions will be posted. Health Checks: All animals must undergo a health check before being unloaded at the show. Any animal showing signs of disease, external parasites, ringworm or abscesses (abscesses must be haired-over) will not be eligible to participate in the show and cannot be unloaded on the property. Check your animals carefully before bringing them to the show. In the event you discover that an animal you entered is in questionable health after you have entered them, you may bring a healthy substitute animal to show but there will be no refunds of entry fees for unhealthy animals. Camping: The Yamhill County Fairground’s campground is available for $30 for one night or $45 for two nights for sites with electrical hookups. Include your camping fees with your show registration form. Camping includes men’s and women’s restrooms and showers. Entries: All entries and payments must be received (not post marked) by May 20th. Late entries must be paid in cash at the show and will be charged a higher entry fee. For goats in the ABGA sanctioned shows; original ABGA registrations papers must be presented and all owners are responsible for having their goats tattooed with legible tattoos. Illegible or missing tattoos may result in an entry being dismissed from the ABGA show at the discretion of the judge. Show Pens & Sale Pens: 6’ x 6’ show pens are available for $12.00 each and tack pens are available for $20.00 each. All animals must be shown from pens – All Youth Show, Other Breeds, and ABGA entries are required to pay for pens.

6’ x 6’ sale pens are available for $30.00 with 50% discounts available to current OMGP members. Any goats present on the show grounds must have gone through a health check. Bring your own sale signs.

Bedding: Initial shavings will be provided. Additional shavings must be provided by the exhibitor. No straw please. Shavings are available to purchase from local McMinnville suppliers including Buchanan Cellers (855 NE 5th St.) and/or Wilco (2741 N Hwy 99W). Concessions: There will be a concession stand located inside the Delashmutt Arena that will be open starting at 7:00 am on Saturday and 7:30 am on Sunday.

Raffle: Who doesn’t love a great raffle? Contact Harless Marcom at [email protected] or (503)784-9121 if you have something to donate for the show raffle. Donations made before May 20 th will be listed in the program. Please bring your raffle items to the show and deliver them to the raffle table along with one of your business cards or a note letting us know who left the item. 50/50 Raffle: Tickets for this item are $1.00 each. The winning ticket holder will receive 50% of the total ticket sales. The remaining 50% of the ticket sales will be used for premiums in the Youth Shows. All tickets must be purchased by 9:00 am on Saturday, May 26th. Raffle winner will be announced on Saturday at the conclusion of the youth shows.

Youth Shows: Prizes for all youth shows are provided by OMGP and other generous donors. 50% of all entry fees and the net proceeds from the 50%/50% Raffle will be paid out to top placing participants in their respective wether and/or wether dam’s weight classes at the discretion of the show chair. Premiums to be paid will not be determined until the number of participants and raffle size are known. There are no guaranteed payouts for any of the shows. Youth Showmanship (Saturday Only): Youth showmanship is for youth ages 18 and under as of the date of the show. Exhibitors will be divided into classes based solely on their age. The number of classes and the age range per class will depend upon the number of entries received.

use. Showmanship entry fee is $10 per person whether or not you are using your own goat. All animals must be shown from pens. Be sure to reserve and pay for a pen for your showmanship goat if you aren’t borrowing an animal.

Youth Wether Dam Show (Saturday Only – Entry Fee Includes Showmanship): This show is for exhibitors that are 18 years of age and younger. Wether-Dams must not have any permanent teeth and cannot be exhibited in the registered ABGA shows. Animals will be divided into classes by weight. All animals must be shown from pens and weighed in before 7:30 am. Show staff will weigh & record each wether dam’s weight prior to the show to determine which weight division your wether dam will fit into, based on the weights of ALL the entries. Your wether dam’s weight division will be assigned after ALL wether dams are weighed in. Youth Market Wether Show (Saturday Only – Entry Fee Includes Showmanship): This show is for exhibitors that are 18 years of age and younger. The wethers entered in the show must still have all of their “milk teeth”. Please note: although we use the term “wether” to describe these classes, doelings may be shown but they must not be registered for the ABGA shows. All animals must be shown from pens and all animals be weighed in before 7:30 am. Show staff will weigh & record each wether’s weight prior to the show to determine which weight division your wether(s) will fit into, based on the weights of ALL the entries. Your wether’s weight division will be assigned after ALL wethers are weighed in.

ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITIES We would be pleased to put your advertisement and/or announcement of your Award Sponsorship in our show program and on our Oregon Meat Goat Producers Show webpage. The show program is provided free to every Boer goat exhibiter and spectator during the two days of the show. All advertisers will be included in our show program if submitted before May 20, 2018. Show program ads are black and white and created with ad-ready copy you provide in jpeg, pdf, or MS Word format.
