1 GENERAL SUPPLY TARIFF A-1 (Including FATA) This Tariff is applicable for supply to residences; places of worship approved religious and charitable institutions; and Government – sponsored educational institutions, hospitals and dispensaries, etc. SURCHARGE FOR PART PAYMENT OR LATE PAYMENT OF ELECTRICITY BILLS. The Authority shall, ordinarily, render bills to the consumers monthly including bank charges, if any, for payment by the due date. However, if any bill including any amounts other than the “Supply Charges” assessed against him by the Authority, is not paid by the consumer in full within 15 days of the date of its presentation, a Late Payment Surcharge of 10% (ten percent) shall be levied on the amount of “Supply Charges” as well as on the amount of Additional Surcharge and “SURCHARGE”. DEFINITIONS 1. “General Supply”, for the purpose of this Tariff, means a supply for lamps, fans, and other single-phase appliances such as heaters, cookers, radiators, air- conditioners, refrigerators and domestic tubewells, etc. In premises having a connected load exceeding 4 kilowatts supply may be given at 3-phase 400 volts and above to allow a balanced distribution of load on the 3-phase. 2. “Month” for the purpose of this Tariff, means a billing month of 30 days or less. 3. “Supply Charges”, under this Tariff, include Energy Charge and Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS). 4. The “Authority”, for the purposes of these terms and conditions means the Water and Power Development Authority. SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF SUPPLY 1.     and Power Development Authority. SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF SUPPLY

    1. Supply to three-phase, 400 volts compressor and pump motors of the air conditioning equipment installed in centrally air-conditioned premises and other three-phase, 400 volts apparatus of domestic utility, e.g. tubewells etc., shall be governed by the appropriate Industrial Tariff. However, the supply to three-phase, 400 volts compressor and pump motors of the air conditioning equipment, installed in centrally air-conditioned mosques, shall be governed by general supply tariff A-1 instead of appropriate industrial tariff.

    2. In the event of a bill being rendered for consumption accumulated over a number of months, the average monthly consumption of the consumer for the purpose of application of the above rates, i.e. Energy Charges, Fuel Adjustment Surcharge and Additional Surcharge shall be determined by dividing the total consumption by the number of months to which the accumulated consumption relates.

    3. The supply under this Tariff shall not be available for resale. 4. The consumer governed by this Tariff shall be charged each month Fuel

    Adjustment Surcharge (FAS) worked out on the basis of the following clause:-

    “A Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS) will be added to each kwh sold, during the billing month to recover fuel cost excepting those exempted from Fuel Adjustment Surcharge”.

    GENERAL SUPPLY TARIFF A-2 (Including FATA) This Tariff is applicable for supply to all government and semi-government offices and institutions, commercial offices and commercial establishments such as shops hotels, restaurants, petrol pumps, services stations, places of entertainment lime cinemas, theaters and clubs; rest houses and government lodges, private educational institutions, offices of lawyers, solicitors, law associates and consultants etc. SURCHARGE FOR PART PAYMENT OR LATE PAYMENT OF ELECTRICITY BILLS. The Authority shall, ordinarily, render bills to the consumers monthly including bank charges, if any, for payment by the due date. However, if any bill including any amounts other than the “Supply Charges” assessed against him by the Authority, is not paid by the consumer in full within 15 days of the date of its presentation, a Late Payment Surcharge of 10% (ten percent) shall be levied on the amount of “Supply Charges” as well as on the amount of Additional Surcharge and “SURCHARGE”. DEFINITIONS.

    2. “Maximum Demand”, for the purpose of this tariff, means the highest demand obtained in any month measured over successive periods each of 30 minutes duration.

    3. “Month” for the purpose of this Tariff, means a billing month of 30 days. 4. “Supply Charges”, under rate (a) of this tariff, include Energy Charges and Fuel

    Adjustment Surcharge (FAS) and under rate (b) of this tariff include Fixed Charges, Energy Charges and Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS).

    5. “Fixed Charges”, for the purpose of rate (b) of this tariff, mean the charges applied on consumer’s maximum demand in kilowatt, recorded during the month and not on the basis of billing demand as in the case of industrial consumers.

    6. The “Authority”, for the purpose of these terms and conditions means the Water and Power Development Authority.

    SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF SUPPLY

    1. For consumers having peak load requirement of up to 20 Kw, supply to three phase, 400 volts compressor and pump motors of the air conditioning equipment installed in centrally air-conditioned premises and other three phase, 400 volts apparatus of general utility in the premises mentioned above under this tariff, shall be governed by the Industrial Tariff B-1. This connection shall not apply to consumers having peak load requirement in excess of 20 KW.

    2. Supply to motors operating projectors and sound apparatus in cinemas shall be charged at the Industrial Tariff B-1.

    3. In the event of a bill being rendered for consumption accumulated over a number of months, the average monthly consumption of the consumer for the purpose of the application of the above rates i.e. Energy Charges, Fuel Adjustment Surcharge and Additional Surcharge shall be determined by dividing the total

    consumption by the number of months to which the accumulated consumption relates.

    4. The supply under this Tariff shall not be available for resale. 5. The consumer governed by this Tariff shall be charged each month Fuel

    TARIFF B-1 (INDUSTRIAL SUPPLY AT 400 VOLTS) This Tariff is applicable for supply to Industrial having sanctioned load up to and including 40 kilowatts. SURCHARGE FOR PART PAYMENT OR LATE PAYMENT OF ELECTRICITY BILLS. The Authority shall, ordinarily render bills to the consumers monthly including bank charges, if any, for payment by the due date. However, if any bill including any amounts other than the “Supply Charges” assessed against him by the Authority, is not paid by the consumer in full within 15 days of the date of its presentation, a Late Payment Surcharge of 10% (ten percent) shall be levied on the amount of “Supply Charges” as well as on the amount of Additional Surcharge and “SURCHARGE”. DEFINITIONS

    1. “Industrial Supply”, for the purpose of this Tariff, means a supply for bona fide industrial purposes in factories including the supply required for the offices and for normal working of the industry and also for water pumps and tubewells operating on three phase 400 volts, other than those meant for the irrigation or reclamation of agricultural land. Note: - Three percent (3%) of the total units consumed shall be charged at general supply tariff A-2.

    2. “Sanctioned load”, means the load in kilowatt as applied for by the consumer and sanctioned by the Authority.

    3. “Month” for the purpose of this Tariff, means a billing month of 30 days. 4. “Supply Charges” under this Tariff include Energy Charges and Fuel Adjustment

    Surcharge (FAS). 5. The “Authority”, for the purposes of these terms and conditions means the Water

    and Power Development Authority. SPECIAL CONDITONS OF SUPPLY

    1. The industrial supply consumers taking supply under this Tariff shall be required to bring out separate circuit in their premises for installation of separate meter for measuring the consumption in the residential colonies attached to their premises which shall be charged at Tariff-H.

    2. The supply under this Tariff shall also be available to consumers who install motors running a single phase 230 volts AC supply for being used for bona fide industrial purpose.

    3. The supply under this Tariff shall not be available for resale.

    4. The consumer governed by this Tariff shall be charged each month Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS) worked out on the basis of the following clause: -

    “A Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS) will be added to each kWh sold, during the billing month to recover fuel cost excepting those exempted from Fuel Adjustment Surcharge”.

    5. The supply at one point at 230 / 400 volts under this Tariff shall also be available to Poultry Farms, Hatcheries and Breeding Farms but ten percent (10%) of the total consumption shall be charged at general supply tariff A-2. 6. An industrial consumer, presently governed by this Tariff shall have the option to switch over Seasonal Tariff-F provided his connection is seasonal in nature as defined under Tariff-F, and he undertakes to abide by the terms and conditions of Tariff-F and pays the difference of security deposit rates previously deposited under this Tariff and those applicable to Tariff-F at the time of acceptance of option for Season Tariff. Seasonal Tariff will be applicable from the date of commencement of the season, as specified by the customers at the time of submitting the option for Tariff-F. Tariff-F consumers will have the option to convert to regular Tariff B1 and vice versa. This option can be exercised at the time of obtaining a new connection or at the beginning of the season. Once exercised, the option will remain in force for at least one year.

    TARIFF B-2 (INDUSTRIAL SUPPLY AT 400 VOLTS) This tariff is applicable for supply to Industrial having sanctioned load from 41 to 500 KW. PENALTY FOR LOW POWER FACTOR Average Power Factor of a consumer at the point of supply shall not be less than 90 percent. In the event of the said Power factor falling below 90 percent, the consumer shall pay a penalty of two percent increase in the fixed charges corresponding to one percent decrease in the power factor below 90 percent. The fixed charges for the purpose of calculating the penalty for low power factor shall, however, be determined with reference to maximum demand during the month.     2. “Billing Demand” for the purpose of this Tariff during a month, means the higher of the following:-

    a) The actual maximum demand recorded during the month. b) Fifty percent of the total sanctioned load.

    3. “Maximum Demand” means the highest demand obtained in any month measured over successive periods each of 30 minutes duration. 3-A. “Maximum Demand” in case of Arc Furnaces means the highest demand obtained in any month measured over successive periods each of 15 minutes duration. 4. “Supply Charges”, for the purposes of this Tariff, include (i) Fixed Charges for the Authority’s reservation of power for the consumer’s billing demand in kilowatt as defined above, (ii) Energy Charges for the amount of energy actually consumed by the consumer in kilowatt-hours, (iii) Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS), and (iv) penalty of low power factor. 5. “Sanctioned Load” means the load in kilowatt as applied for by the

    consumer and sanctioned by the Authority. 6. “Fixed Charges” mean the charges for the Authority’s reservation of power

    for consumer’s billing demand in kilowatt as defined above. 7. “Energy Charges” means the charges for the units actually consumed by the consumer in kilowatt-hours. 8. “Reservation of Power”, for the purpose of assessment of fixed charges under this Tariff, means the Authority’s reservation of power for consumer’s billing demand: -

    a) In the case of premises already connected to the Authority’s supply system for twelve consecutive months of each financial year (July-June); and b) In the case of premises connection to the Authority’s supply system, during the course of a financial year, for the remaining part of the financial year.

    9. “Power Factor” means the ratio expressed as a percentage of the kilowatt-hours to the kilovolt ampere-hours consumed during the month. In case of those connections where kVARh meters do not exist and KVARh meters are installed, Power Factor shall be the ratio of kWh to square root of sum of square of kWh and kVARh, i.e. KWh Kwh kVARh P.F.= ------- = = Cos (tan -1 (---------)) KVAH (KWH)2 + (KVARH) KWH 10. “Month” for the purpose of this Tariff, means a billing month of 30 days reckoned from the date of last meter reading. However, if for any reason, the meter reading date of a consumer is altered and the acceleration / retardation in the date is up to 4 days, no notice shall be taken of this acceleration or retardation. But if the date is accelerated or retarded by more than 4 days, the fixed charges shall be assessed on proportionate basis for the actual number of days between the date of the old reading and the new reading.

    11. The “Authority”, for the purpose of these terms and conditions means the Water and Power Development Authority. SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF SUPPLY

    1. The industrial supply consumers taking supply under this tariff shall be required to bring out separate circuit in their premises for installation of separate meter for measuring the consumption in the residential colonies attached to their premises which shall be charged at Tariff-H.

    2. Consumer with a sanctioned load exceeding 500 KW shall not be given supply under this Tariff. However, the consumers with a sanctioned load exceeding 500 KW who were connected to the Authority’s Supply System and were being charged at Tariff B-2 (for 400 Volts) before the introduction of this Schedule of Tariff, shall continue to be charged under this Tariff.

    3. The supply under this Tariff shall not be available for resale. 4. The consumers governed by this Tariff shall be charged each month Fuel Adjustment

    Surcharge (FAS) worked out on the basis of the following clause:- “A Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS) will be added to each kWh sold, during the billing month to recover fuel cost excepting those exempted from Fuel Adjustment Surcharge”.

    5. For TOD Tariff, the following timing shall be observed as Peak and Off peak hours.

    TARIFF B-3 (INDUSTRIAL SUPPLY AT 11 KV AND 33 KV) This tariff is applicable for supply to Industries having sanctioned load up to 5000 KW. PENALTY FOR LOW POWER FACTOR Average Power Factor of a consumer at the point of supply shall not be less than 90 percent. In the event of the said power factor falling below 90 percent, the consumer shall pay a penalty of two percent increase in the fixed charges corresponding to one percent decrease in the power factor below 90 percent. The fixed charges for the purpose of calculating the penalty for low power factor shall, however, be determined with reference to maximum demand during the month.     4. “Supply Charges” for the purpose of this tariff, include : (i) Fixed Charges for the Authority’s reservation of power for the consumer’s billing demand in kilowatt as defined above, (ii) Energy Charges for the amount of energy actually consumed by the consumer in kilowatt-hours, (iii) the Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS), and (iv) the penalty of low power factor.

    8. “Reservation of Power”, for the purpose of assessment of fixed charges under this Tariff, means the Authority’s reservation of power for consumer’s billing demand: -

    a) In the case of premises already connected to the Authority’s supply system for twelve consecutive months of each financial year (July-June); and b) In the case of premises connection to the Authority’s supply system, during the course of a financial year, for the remaining part of the financial year.

    9. “Power Factor” means the ratio expressed as a percentage of the kilowatt-hours to the kilovolt ampere-hours consumed during the month. In case of those connections where kVARh meters do not exist and KVARh meters are installed, Power Factor shall be the ratio of kWh to square root of sum of square of kWh and kVARh, i.e. KWh Kwh kVARh P.F.= ------- = = Cos (tan -1 (---------)) KVAH (KWH) 2 + (KVARH) KWH 10. “Month” for the purpose of this Tariff, means a billing month of 30 days reckoned from the date of last meter reading. However, if for any reason, the meter reading date of a consumer is altered and the acceleration / retardation in the date is up to 4 days, no notice shall be taken of this acceleration or retardation. But if the date is accelerated or retarded by more than 4 days, the fixed charges shall be assessed on proportionate basis for the actual number of days between the date of the old reading and the new reading. 11. The “Authority”, for the purpose of these terms and conditions means the Water and Power Development Authority. SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF SUPPLY

    1. The supply under this Tariff shall not be available to a prospective consumer unless he provides, to the satisfaction and approval of the Authority, his own Transformer, Circuit breakers and other necessary equipment for receiving and controlling the supply, or, alternatively pays to the Authority for all apparatus and equipment if so provide and installed by the Authority. The recovery of the remaining cost of service connection shall be regulated by the Authority’s Abridged Conditions of Supply in force from time to time. In case of supply through an independent feeder drawn directly from the Grid Station, the cost of outgoing 11 KV Circuit Breakers in the Grid Station shall also have to be paid for by the prospective consumer.

    2. The consumer falling within the purview of this Tariff may not be required to have a separate circuit in their installations for measuring the lights and fans consumption required for the offices and for the normal working of the industry. They shall, however, be required to have an independent connection for one point supply to residential colonies attached to their premises, which will be charged at Tariff-H.

    3. The Supply under this Tariff shall not be available for resale. 4. This Tariff shall also be applicable to the existing industrial supply consumers taking

    supply at 33 KV and 66 KV. 5. The consumer governed by this Tariff shall be charged each month Fuel Adjustment

    Surcharge (FAS) worked out on the basis of the following clause:-

    “A Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS) will be added to each kWh sold, during the billing month to recover fuel cost excepting those exempted from Fuel Adjustment Surcharge”.

    6. All industrial consumers governed by Tariff B-3 shall be converted to Time-of-Day (TOD) Tariff B-3 For TOD Tariff, the following timings shall be observed as peak and off-peak hours:-

    SEASON PEAK TIMING OFF-PEAK TIMING

    Dec. to Feb. 5 PM to 9 PM Remaining 20 hours March to May 6 PM to 10 PM -do- June to Aug. 7 PM to 11 PM -do- Sept. to Nov. 6 PM to 10 PM -do-

    7. An industrial consumer, presently governed by this tariff shall have the option to

    switch over to Seasonal Tariff-F provided his connection is seasonal in nature as defined under Tariff –F, and he undertakes to abide by the terms and conditions of Tariff-F and pays the difference of security deposit rates previously deposited under this tariff and those applicable to Tariff-F at the time of acceptance of option for Seasonal Tariff.     TARIFF B-4 (INDUSTRIAL SUPPLY AT 66 KV, 132 KV AND 220 KV) This Tariff is applicable for supply to Industries for all loads. PENALTY FOR LOW POWER FACTOR Average Power Factor of a consumer at the point of supply shall not be less than 90 percent. In the event of the said power factor falling below 90 percent, the consumer shall pay a penalty of two percent increase in the fixed charges corresponding to one percent decrease in the power factor below 90 percent. The fixed charges for the purpose of calculating the penalty for low power factor shall, however, be determined with reference to maximum demand during the month. SURCHARGE FOR PART PAYMENT OR LATE PAYMENT OF ELECTRICITY BILLS. “The Authority” shall, ordinarily, render bills to the consumers monthly including bank charges, if any, for payment by the due date. However, if any bill including any amounts other than the “Supply Charges” assessed against him by the Authority, is not paid by the consumer in full within 15 days of the date of its presentation, a Late Payment Surcharge of 10% (ten percent) shall be levied on the amount of “Supply Charges” as well as on the amount of Additional Surcharge and “SURCHARGE”.

    DEFINITIONS

    1. “Billing Supply”, for the purpose of this Tariff, means a supply for bona fide industrial purposes in factories and also for water pumps and tubewells operating on three phase 400 volts, other than those meant for the irrigation or reclamation of agricultural land, and also includes supply for lamps and fans for the factory premises but not for the residential colony attached thereto.

    2. “Billing Demand”, for the purpose of this tariff during a month, means the higher of the following:-

    a) The actual maximum demand recorded during the month. b) Fifty percent of the total sanctioned load.

    3. “Maximum Demand” means the highest demand obtained in any month measured over successive periods each of 30 minutes duration. 3-A“Maximum Demand” In case of Arc Furnace means the highest demand obtained in any month measured over successive periods each of 15 minutes duration.

    4. “Supply Charges” for the purpose of this tariff, include : (i) Fixed Charges for the Authority’s reservation of power for the consumer’s billing demand in kilowatt as defined above, (ii) Energy Charges for the amount of energy actually consumed by the consumer in kilowatt-hours, (iii) the Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS), and (iv) the penalty of low power factor.

    5. “Sanctioned Load” means the load in kilowatt as applied for by the consumer and sanctioned by the Authority. 6. “Fixed Charges” mean the charges for the Authority’s reservation of power for consumer’s billing demand in kilowatt as defined above. 7. “Energy Charges” means the charges for the units actually consumed by the consumer in kilowatt-hours. 8. “Reservation of Power”, for the purpose of assessment of fixed charges under this Tariff, means the Authority’s reservation of power for consumer’s billing demand: -

    a) In the case of premises already connected to the Authority’s supply system for twelve consecutive months of each financial year (July-June); and b) In the case of premises connection to the Authority’s supply system, during the course of a financial year, for the remaining part of the financial year.

    9. “Power Factor” means the ratio expressed as a percentage of the kilowatt-hours to the kilovolt ampere-hours consumed during the month. In case of those connections where kVARh meters do not exist and KVARh meters are installed, Power Factor shall be the ratio of kWh to square root of sum of square of kWh and kVARh, i.e. KWh Kwh kVARh P.F.= ------- = = Cos (tan -1 (---------)) KVAH (KWH) 2 + (KVARH) KWH 10. “Month” for the purpose of this Tariff, means a billing month of 30 days reckoned from the date of last meter reading. However, if for any reason, the meter reading date of a consumer is altered and the acceleration / retardation in the date is up to 4 days, no notice shall be taken of this acceleration or retardation. But if the date is accelerated or retarded

    by more than 4 days, the fixed charges shall be assessed on proportionate basis for the actual number of days between the date of the old reading and the new reading. 11. The “Authority”, for the purpose of these terms and conditions means the Water and Power Development Authority. SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF SUPPLY

    1. The supply under this Tariff shall not be available to a prospective consumer unless he provides, to the satisfaction and approval of the Authority, independent Grid Station, of his own including Land, Building, Transformers, Circuit Breakers and other necessary equipment and apparatus for receiving and controlling the supply, or, alternatively, pays to the Authority for all such Land, Building, Transformers, Circuit Breakers and other necessary equipment and apparatus if so provided and installed by the Authority. The recovery of remaining cost of service connection shall be regulated by the Authority’s Abridged Conditions of Supply in force from time to time.

    2. The consumers falling within the purview of this Tariff may not be required to have a separate circuit in their installation for measuring the lights and fans consumption required for the offices and for the normal working of the industry, and also for the consumption in the residential colonies.

    3. The supply under this Tariff shall not be available for resale. 4. The consumer governed by this Tariff shall be charged each month Fuel Adjustment

    Surcharge (FAS) worked out on the basis of the following clause:- “A Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS) will be added to each kWh sold, during the billing month to recover fuel cost excepting those exempted from Fuel Adjustment Surcharge”.

    5. All industrial consumers governed by Tariff B-4 shall be converted to Time-of-Day (TOD) Tariff B-4 For TOD Tariff, the following timings shall be observed as peak and off-peak hours:-

    TARIFF C-1 (BULK SUPPLY AT 400 VOLTS) This Tariff is applicable to consumers having their own distribution facilities, i.e. own L.T. lines etc, for the purpose of further distribution within their respective jurisdiction. PENALTY FOR LOW POWER FACTOR Average Power Factor of the consumer governed by this tariff, at the point of supply shall not be less than 90 percent. In the event of the said Power Factor falling below 90 percent, the consumer shall pay a penalty of two percent increase in the fixed charges corresponding to one percent decrease in the power factor below 90 percent.

    TARIFF C-2 (BULK SUPPLY AT 11 KV AND 33 KV) This Tariff is applicable to consumers having their own distribution facilities, i.e. own H.T/L.T lines and distribution transformers etc., for the purpose of further distribution within their respective jurisdiction. PENALTY FOR LOW POWER FACTOR

    Average Power Factor of the consumer governed by this tariff, at the point of supply

The recovery of the remaining cost of connection shall be regulated by the Authority’s Abridged Conditions of Supply in force from time to time.

    3. The supply under this Tariff shall not be available to Industrial Supply consumers. 4. The consumer governed by this Tariff shall be charged each month Fuel Adjustment

    Surcharge (FAS) worked out on the basis of the following clause:- “A Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS) will be added to each kWh sold, during the billing month to recover fuel cost excepting those exempted from Fuel Adjustment Surcharge”.

    TARIFF C-3 (BULK SUPPLY AT 66 KV, 132 KV AND 220KV) This Tariff is applicable to consumers having their own distribution facilities, i.e. own grid station, HT/LT lines and distribution transformers etc., for the purpose of further distribution within their respective jurisdiction.

The recovery of the remaining cost of the service connection shall be regulated by the Authority’s Abridged Conditions of Supply in force time to time. 3. The supply under this Tariff shall not be available to Industrial Supply consumers. 4. The consumers governed by this Tariff shall be charged each month Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS) worked out on the basis of the following clause:-

    “A Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS) will be added to each kWh sold during the billing month to recover fuel cost excepting those exempted from Fuel Adjustment Surcharge”. TARIFF-D (FOR SUPPLY TO AGRCULTURAL TUBEWELLS AND LIFT IRRIGATION PUMPS)

    This tariff shall apply to :

    1. Reclamation and Drainage Scheme Tubewells under Salinity Control and Reclamation Projects.

    2. Bona fide forests, agricultural tubewells and lift irrigation pumps for the irrigation of agricultural land.

    MINIMUM MONTHLY CHARGES The fixed charges will represent the minimum monthly charge under this Tariff even if no energy is consumed during a month. SURCHARGE FOR PART PAYMENT OR LATE PAYMENT OF ELECTRICITY BILLS. The Authority shall, ordinarily, render bills to the consumers monthly including bank charges, if any, for payment by the due date. However, if any bill including any amounts other than the “Supply Charges” assessed against him by the Authority, is not paid by the consumer in full within 15 days of the date of its presentation, a Late Payment Surcharge of 10% (ten percent) shall be levied on the amount of “Supply Charges” as well as on the amount of Additional Surcharge and “SURCHARGE”. DEFINITIONS

    1. “Agricultural Supply” means a supply for Lift Irrigation Pumps and / or Tubewells intended solely for irrigation or reclamation of agricultural land or forests, and includes supply for lighting of the tubewell chamber which shall also be charged under this tariff.

    2. “Supply Charges”, under Rate 2 of this Tariff include:- (i) Fixed Charges for the consumer’s maximum demand in kilowatts where applicable, (ii) energy charges for the energy actually consumed by the consumed by the consumer in kilowatt-hours, (iii) Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS).

    3. “Fixed Charges”, for the purpose of this Tariff, mean the charges in respect of Authority’s reservation of power for the consumer’s demand based on sanctioned load in kilowatt.

    4. “Month”, for the purpose of this Tariff, means a billing month of 30 days reckoned from the date of last meter reading. However, if for any reason, the meter reading date of a consumer is altered and the acceleration/retardation in the date is up to 4 days, no notice shall be taken of this acceleration or retardation. But if the date is accelerated or retarded by more than 4 days, the fixed charges shall be assessed on proportionate basis for the actual number of days between the date of the old reading and the new reading.

    5. “Energy Charges”, mean the charges for the energy actually consumed by the consumer in kilowatt-hours.

    SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF SUPPLY

    1. The fixed charges under this Tariff shall be recovered on the basis of sanctioned load in kilowatt.

    2. The lamps and fans consumption in the residential quarters if any attached to the tubewells shall be charged entirely at Tariff A-1 for General Supply.

    3. The supply under this Tariff shall not be available to consumers using pumps for the irrigation of Parks, meadows, gardens, orchards, attached to and forming part of the residential, commercial or industrial premises in which case the appropriate General Supply Tariff A-1 / A-2 or Industrial Tariff B-1 / B-2 accordingly as the supply is single phase or three phase, shall be applicable.

    4. The supply under this Tariff shall not be available for resale. 5. The Consumers governed by this Tariff shall be charged each month Fuel Adjustment

    Surcharge (FAS) worked out on the basis of the following clause:- “A Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS) will be added to each kWh sold during he billing month to recover fuel cost excepting those exempted from Fuel Adjustment Surcharge”.

    6. The supply under this tariff shall also be available to tubewells mean for aquaculture, viz. fish farms, fish hatcheries and fish nurseries. TARIFF E-1 (TEMPORARY GENERAL SUPPLY) This Tariff shall apply to Residential and Commercial consumers for temporary supply. SECURITY DEPOSITS Ordinarily the supply under this Tariff shall not be given by the Authority without first obtaining security equal to the anticipated supply charges and other miscellaneous charges for the period of temporary supply recoverable under the normal rules framed by the Authority from time to time. SURCHARGE FOR PART PAYMENT OR LATE PAYMENT OF ELECTRICITY BILLS. The Authority shall, ordinarily, render bills to the consumers monthly including bank charges, if any, for payment by the due date. However, if any bill including any amounts other than the “Supply Charges” assessed against him by the Authority, is not paid by the consumer in full within 15 days of the date of its presentation, a Late Payment Surcharge of 10% (ten percent) shall be levied on the amount of “Supply Charges” as well as on the amount of Additional Surcharge and “SURCHARGE”. DEFINITIONS

    1. “Temporary General Supply” means a supply given to persons temporarily on special occasion such as ceremonial, religious gatherings, festivals, fairs, marriages and other civil or military functions. This also includes supply to touring cinemas and persons engaged in construction works for all kinds of single phase loads. For connected load exceeding 4 kw, supply may be given at 400 volts (3 phase) to allow a balanced distribution of load on the 3-phases. Normally, temporary connection shall be allowed for a period of 3 months; however this can be extended on three months basis by the load sanctioning authority subject to clearance of outstanding dues.

SURCHARGE FOR PART PAYMENT OR LATE PAYMENT OF ELECTRICITY BILLS. The Authority shall, ordinarily, render bills to the consumers monthly including bank charges, if any, for payment by the due date. However, if any bill including any amounts other than the “Supply Charges” assessed against him by the Authority, is not paid by the consumer in full within 15 days of the date of its presentation, a Late Payment Surcharge of 10% (ten percent) shall be levied on the amount of “Supply Charges” as well as on the amount of Additional Surcharge and “SURCHARGE”. SECURITY DEPOSIT The supply under this Tariff shall be given by the Authority after obtaining security equal to the anticipated supply charges and other miscellaneous charges for the period of temporary supply recoverable under the normal rules framed by the Authority from time to time. DEFINITIONS

    1. “Temporary Industrial or Bulk Supply” means a supply given to any person or an Industrial or Bulk Supply Consumer for the bona fide purpose mentioned under the definitions of “Industrial Supply” and “Bulk Supply” in the Schedule of Tariffs. Normally, temp orary connections shall be allowed for a period of 3 months; however this can be extended on three months basis by the load sanctioning authority subject to clearance of outstanding dues.

    2. “Energy Charges” mean the charges for the units actually consumed by the consumer in kilowatt-hours.

    3. “Supply Charges” under this tariff include Energy Charges and Fuel Adjustment Surcharge.

    4. “Month” means a billing month of 30 days or less.

    SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF SUPPLY

    1. This Tariff shall not be entitle any person or a consumer to the temporary supply or to any temporary addition to the existing supply without previous sanction of the competent authority.

    2. The supply under this Tariff shall not be available to any industrial supply consumer for resale.

    3. The Consumers governed by this Tariff shall be charged each month Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS) worked out on the basis of the following clause:-

    “A Fuel Adjustment Surcharge (FAS) will be added to each kWh sold during the billing month to recover fuel cost excepting those exempted from Fuel Adjustment Surcharge”.

    TARIFF F (SEASONAL INDUSTRIAL SUPPLY) This Tariff is applicable to seasonal industry. DEFINITIONS

    1. “Seasonal Industry” for the purpose of application of this Tariff, means an industry which works only for part of the year to meet demand for goods or services arising during a particular season of the year. Note: Any seasonal industry running in combination with one or more seasonal industries against one connection, in a manner that the former works in one season while the latter works in the other season, thus running throughout the year, will not be classified as a seasonal industry for the purpose of the application of this Tariff.

    2. “Year” means any period comprising twelve consecutive months. 3. “Seasonal Industrial Supply” means a supply given to seasonal industry as defined above.

    4. All “Definitions” and “Special Conditions of Supply” as laid down under the corresponding Industrial Tariff shall also form part of this Tariff so for as they may be relevant.

    5. The Authority, for the purposes of these terms and conditions means the Water and Power Development Authority.

    SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF SUPPLY

    1. Fixed charges per kilowatt per month under this Tariff, levied at the rate of 125% of the corresponding regular Industrial Supply Tariff Rates, shall be recovered only for the period seasonal industry actually runs subject to minimum period of six consecutive months during any twelve consecutive months. The condition for recovery of Fixed Charges for a minimum period of six months shall not, however, apply to the seasonal industries, which are connected to the Authority’s Supply System for the first time during the course of a season. 2. The consumers falling within the purview of this Tariff shall have the option to change over to the corresponding Industrial Supply Tariff, provided they undertake to abide by all the conditions and restrictions, which may, from time to time, be prescribed as an integral part of those Tariffs. The Consumers under this Tariff will have the option to convert to Regular Tariff and vice versa. This option can be exercised at the time of

    obtaining a new connection or at the beginning of the season. Once exercised, the option will remain in force for at least one year. 3. All seasonal loads shall be disconnected from the authority’s Supply System at the end of the season, specified by the consumer at the time of getting connection, for which the supply is give. In case, however, a consumer requires to run the non-seasonal part of his load (e.g. lights, fans, tubewells, etc.) throughout the year, he shall have to bring out separate circuits for such load so as to enable installation of separate meters for each type of load and charging the same at the relevant Tariff. 4. Where a “Seasonal Supply” consumer does not come forward to have his seasonal industry re-connected with the Authority’s Supply System in any ensuing season, the service line and equipment belonging to the Authority and installed at his premises shall be removed after expiry of 60 days of the date of commencement of the season previously specified by the consumer at the time of his obtaining new connection/re-connection. However, at least ten clear days not in writing under registered post shall be necessary to be given to the consumer before removal of service line and equipment from his premises as aforesaid, to enable him to decide about the retention of connection or otherwise. No Supply Charge shall be recovered from a disconnected seasonal consumer for any season during which he does not come forward to have his seasonal industry re-connected with the Authority’s Supply System.
