As digital technology has been come more and more commonly used even the fashion industry have had to change their ways, take to the internet with online shops, blogs and even facebooks to help get themselves out there and get closer to their customers.

BUISNESS TALK

• These days anyone can open a buissness online and I mean anyone from knock off i phones to a teenager opening their own boutique.

• You would think those openning new fashion buissness only wouldn't have a chance against the marketing giants there are out there given the fact of quality and speed of production would be compromised by funding, but not thanks to technology!

• Digital printing has more recently become very popular with well know brands and those looking to open a shop with their own designs.

• Websites like teefury.com offer their customer chances to vote on the design used at a very low press and all designs are submitted by general public on programs like photoshop easily, which cut costs on designers and giving the items a very unique look.

DIGITAL PRINTING VS TRADITIONAL

As well as new online buissness using digital printing major stores like primark, new look, topshop and many others clearly use it too in their clothing. Why?

Although they do have to money to do either it is much quicker and easier to design and print a digitally than tranditional as there is no need for stencels to be cut and lets face it a computer can print faster and more perfect than a human.

High end designers like Giorgio Armani,Alexander Mc queen, prada and other will still use traditional method due to the more fine detail and unique quality that can be achieve and also the fact that they can afford to higher 100s of workers to meet demands.

THAT CAME OUT OF A PRINTER?!?!

3D printers earlier this year hit the general market for anyone to buy but due to there crazy high presses only a handful of average day people could afford one for themselves.

However in the business industry many places has invested in one for make new products to test and yes you guested it even in the fashion industry pieces has been seen made by these wonderful machines!

Designers like Dita von teese have created entire dresses using them, though piece are not very practical for day to day where the final product really is a work of art.

PRINT INSPIRATION

I have sourced these images from Black milk a well known brand based in Australia.

They are very well known for using digital printing in nearly all pieces of clothing they sell.

Page 9: Generation z

Black Milk use a variety of image ranging for objects to patterns.

Page 10: Generation z

They often use images from well known films and even well known art pieces and logos.

The quality of the material use by Black Milk is always amazingly good, it is a very stretchy creating a perfect fit.

Page 11: Generation z

I love Black Milks prints the most in comparison to other brands. They always stand out and hit their target audiences.

DIGITAL CREATIONSThe ideas of my designs all

come from the title of 'Everything inbetween'

This particular digital printing idea comes from the way in which different fabrics folds, shapes and disruption in the fabric.Creating many places

'inbetween' the fabric.I like this idea lot as it add texture without the use of different fabric though if I

was to go back into it iwould make sure all the fabrics were the same

colour.This image was created on

photoshop.

Page 13: Generation z

These collages are made from images I tuck around my home to create inspiration for my digital print idea.

Fabric collages

Page 14: Generation z

I like the idea of creating a print that would create texture to the fabric as it would detailed but natural at the same time

Page 15: Generation z

I will probably use inspiration from the Black Milk prints I have seen to create my print

PRINT IDEAS

For all of these ideas I used photoshop and a dress CAD to create an example of how the print could look in use.

This print idea it made threw the use of an image I used in my sketch bookWhich focuses on ‘ Everything In between’Looking at 3D aspects of clothing. For thisI chose to focus on the texture or fabric and There fibers when zoomed in on.

Page 17: Generation z

This print idea is from an image also in me text book of a leather bag.I like how it gives the fabric a sense of texture although it is completely flat.

Page 18: Generation z

This print is made from a collage I made in my sketch book it includes a fur fabric and a ribbon giving an even greater texture to the print.I like this piece as the clash if the colours are eye catching.

Page 19: Generation z

This print idea is also from a collage in my sketch book, I don’t like the colours though I do like the fact it has a detailed part right inside some fabric.

Page 20: Generation z

This print idea is from a drawing I did in my sketch book, I like to colour clash but the lack of texture created by the print.

FINAL DIGITALPRINT IDEA

This is my final digital idea which I created on photoshop.I like the more natural colours I have used in this design and also the fact it gives texture like fur to the fabric.I tuck some inspiration from Black milks galaxy print and the different textures of fabrics I have researched.

Page 22: Generation z

This is a CAD I created on photoshop for my final idea that I plan to create in my construction class.I used technics such and laso ,contrast change ,copy ,paste ,merge and rastirize

Page 23: Generation z

Final CAD

I created this final CAD by hand drawing out my design for my everything inbetween project and then scanning it into the computer. After this I went over the out line to make it more defined. Once done I then used photo shop to put my print onto the CAD . Using the lasue tool ,cop and paste, rasterize, invert selections and other tools.

TAGS AND LOGOS RESEARCH

Page 25: Generation z

MY LOGO AND TAG

This in the tag I designed for my Brand which my final piece would feature in.

I named the company Look Alike as I have tried to achieve a print that looks similar to fur which would be a similar theme if I was to create more prints.

The logo I design threw paint is featured in the centre and the rest was designed threw the use of publisher.

I used my research to design a tag the I felt reflected the type of company it would be, classic , simple and clear.

I also have put the print design on the reverse I am please with how the tag turned out but wish I could have created a more detailed logo.

Page 26: Generation z

POSTER RESEARCH

I researched a variety of different fashion posters to help inspire my own.Again I tuck to the more simple style which would connect well with my tag

Page 27: Generation z

FASHION POSTER

I designed a poster to advertise my final piece using photoshopand publisher. Using tool like hue editor , sharpen and cropping and insert images from other work.

I am glad with how it turned out.I spent a lot of time on Manga studio 5 using a drawing tablet to produce my final idea on a model.I used tools such as turnip pen, blur, soothing water colour, layering, colour selector, anti over flow setting the line as the reference layer and exporting jpeg
