Changing Urban Environments

The Coastal Zone

Unit 3 Local Fieldwork Investigation

Controlled Assessment

We also undertake a local river study

investigation - the River Neb We start in the

South Barrule Plantation and finish in Peel

Students carry out width depth and velocity

measurements and also get a chance to study

some of the riverrsquos other characteristics from

source to mouth

How will I be assessed

At the end of Year 11 students sit

both the Unit 1 and Unit 2

examinations The two papers are

each worth 375 of the GCSE

Students also complete the Controlled

Assessment in Years 1011 The

Controlled Assessment is worth 25 of

the GCSE

geographers with their

skills of analysis are highly

employable

At A-Level Geography students follow the AQA Specification
