The Lower Marsh Regeneration Project focuses on streets and adjoining buildings. It is being managed through a partnership involving local stakeholders, including:

l Design for London – a development agency

l The London Borough of Lambeth

l Network Rail and Transport for London

l The South Bank Employers’ Group

l The Waterloo Community Development Group

Details of the scheme

l The market area – 21 large pitches; some will have water and electric power points.

l The Cubana Gateway – a new public space with public seating will be created. This will be centred around a newly planted mature oak tree. The area will be repaved.

l Westminster Bridge Road – removal of guardrail and street clutter.

l Street lighting will be improved, including some street lights attached to buildings so that more space is created for pedestrians.
