Geological Data Loading
This one-day course is designed primarily to show data loaders how to use Kingdom to load geographic and geological data. Interpreters are encouraged to attend this course in order to learn the data loading process. The course assumes that the attendee has a fundamental understanding of the data types used in this class. Hands-on data loading exercises paired with discussion include the following areas: • How to create and manage a project including establishing project boundaries, choosing an
X/Y projection, the use of authors, and more
• Geographic data (culture) input: creating and entering culture data on the base map, includ-ing formatted and unformatted data entry, and the importing of ESRI shape files
• Well data input: using IHSEnergy and ASCII formatted data; loading of well locations, devia-tion surveys, formation tops, digital and raster log curves, local and shared Time-Depth charts, production data, and more
• Miscellaneous document (text, spreadsheet, or graphics) import, using PAKnotes
NOTE: This course prepares you to load geographic data (culture), well data, and documents associated with exploration and development projects. Some QC methods are also discussed. The following is an outline of the course content for Geological Data Loading.
