5

Angle

Angle- A figure formed by two rays with a common endpoint

This is a door frame that forms a 90 degree angle

Page 6: Geometry Project Dec 09

6

Perpendicular lines

Perpendicular lines- Intersecting lines that form 90 degree angles

The bars on this fence form 90 degree angles to one another

Page 7: Geometry Project Dec 09

7

Parallel LinesParallel lines- Lines in the same plane that don’t intersect

These tube rails on a road bridge are parallel to each other

Parallelogram

Parallelogram- A quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides

This is the Arby’s logo and it forms a parallelogram

Page 16: Geometry Project Dec 09

16

Circle

The set of points that are in a plane that are a fixed distance from a given point

This is a big clock on a tower that forms a circle
