Hi! I'm George. I'm in Mrs. Hines' 4th grade class in Chocowinity, NC. I've learned a lot with the 22 students in my class, and we recently took a trip

to our state capital, Raleigh. I am excited to tell you a little more about

it.

George Washington's statue

Hello! I am in the Capitol Building. And this is the George Washington statue. He is dressed as a Roman Soldier. In the Capitol Building there are lots of steps. I got to see Beverly Purdue's office. I learned about the things they saved in the burning house . This statue was made in Italy. When we went up the stairs. There were 50 stars on the carpet and stairs we got to walk on.

The CapitolWhile we were at the Capitol building I saw a statue of George Washington. He was dressed like a Roman soldier with his sword and armor,I thought he looked funny. I learned that it was in a building and that the building burnt down. Unfortunately they built anew statue to keep in the Capitol building. After the lady finished talking to us she let us see Beverly Perdue's office. Then we went to the old Senate house on the second floor. I saw a picture of George Washington on the wall. the lady said it was a very valuable picture. I also learned that they used curtains to block the air from outside and that each member of the Senate house had its own little desk. They used candles for light and ink and a feather to write.

While I was at the Capitol, i saw a statue of George Washington. He was dressed like a Roman soldier with his sword and armor. I tough. it was fun. learned it was burnt down in the Capitol. They built a new one to keep in the Capitol. After the lady finished talking. I went to Beverly Perdue's office. Then i went to the second floor. The curntions had keeps the air out . We went to the Senate ahd the House.And there was George Washington's picture.

The Natural Sciences Museum

Oh! It is so hot I thought as I saw butterflies flying around me. Oh my ! I said when I saw a sloth .They said it movedfor only 2 hours per day. It looked lazy and it had lots of hair learningabout a sloth and. Butterflies is so fun! here's a tip. Butterflies live for a few weeks and some of thebutterflies are so cute and some of them aren't. I even saw a cocoon.

It was hot in the butterfly room. I learned that butterflies like bright colors. One almost sat on me. They had spiders. They had lots of butterflies with lots of colors. They also had a sloth. It was so cool. I loved it.

The Natural Sciences Museum

I learned about T-Rexes at the Natural Sciences Museum. I learned about what they eat,size,teeth,bones and enemies. One is the Triceratops.

I'm at the science museum learning about dinosaurs. I was touching the dinosaurs and looking at them. About dinosaurs they are big and scary and a long a time species. It felt awesome to go see dinosaurs.

The House of Representatives Chamber

I was in the House of Representatives Chamber. I saw the statue of George Washington. I learned that the 1st capitol building burned down.

The NC History Museum

Hi! I am Bear. It was hot in the pirate exhibit. I went to see the weapons. We were doing a flag and were going to play a shooting ship game. We learned about Blackbeard we saw treasure.We got on a ship and we were playing pirates.My friends help me make the flag and it was awesome.

One day I went too the NC History Museum . I looked at the flag making and looked at the flag I put cross bones on my flag and a skull.It looked awesome. I said Next I learn about Blackbeard and more Then I saw a movie about Blackbeard and I saw a real skull but don't worry I was in glass. I saw a deck of a ship It had gun on the side of the ship.

The NC History Museum

Hi! I am a Bear and I explored the N.C. History Museum. I learned about Blackbeard and Anne Bonney and other pirates. I saw skeltons on the backscreen whenever I walked in. I got to be Blackbeard by putting my head through the hole. I got to pretend I was a captain steering the boat. I got to design a pirate flag and it was cool. I got a chance to practice shooting cannons at a boat. That was my adventure at the N.C. History Museum.

This is so cool I thought as I entered the science exhibit. When I was in there I learned about all different kinds of animals. Even though it was cool it was also kind of creepy. My favorite part was looking at all the snakes. You could see snakes,frogs,beavers,and butterflies. On our way through,we walked into the butterfly exhibit. And if you looked way up you could see a sloth.At the end of all that I decided to hang out with my best friends. Mostly they were talking about what they bought.But it was still cool!

The NC History Museum

I was in the pirate exhibit at the North Carolina History Museum. We learned about pirates that were shooting cannons and the weapons pirates used on the ship. We learned about knot tying and how pirates tied knots on ropes. We got to play on the ship playground and play the cannon shooting game. Under the weapons were what they were and information about them.
