For our trailer we want to have a well known name for the producer, this is why we went with Warner Brothers they are a mainstream distribution company that are a multi-billion dollar company that have produced a wide variety of films like the Harry Potter series and Dark Knight etc. By choosing Warner brothers it will help us to promote our film to a wider, larger audience. Like I am legend and the matrix. Legendary Entertainment is a leading media company with film, television and comics divisions, this is why we chose these because like warner brothers it will help us to publicise our film more as these are two big companies.

The internet is getting more and more popular every day with millions of users on it every single day. The people who use the internet most are men and woman aged around 12-60 year olds. Most children these days have grown up with internet in their households and are using it regularly. Going on social media and other websites like Facebook, twitter, Instagram and YouTube. This is how the producers are advertising their films free of charge and yet millions of people are seeing this. For example the dark knight rises used a

technique where on twitter every time someone tweets with the hashtag #thefirerises, an image is further revealed made up from the Twitter user pics and the image revealed itself a bane. This is a great way to publicise your film as the audience can interact with it. This is how we are going to advertise our trailer by using social media websites to expand our audience even more. These days people don’t only use computers they can access the internet on their mobile phones and tablets while they are on the move. This is important that we advertise our film as many ways as possible

The films that I researched all had posters, websites and trailers for the audience to see. I am legend website to connected to the warner brothers website whereas the road had its own website. Some of these films had more than one trailer showing different scene to give a bit more information on the story. On these websites e.g. I am legend lets you buy the films and find out all the information about it so it draws in the audience even more.

Just like the road our film may not win any major awards like a BAFTA or an Oscar however I feel like we may win some more niche awards like the road has done. For example academy of science fiction, fantasy & horror films USA. This may be because we haven't got any well known actors in it that have any awards in the past therefore winning the more mainstream awards is not what we may get. Therefore we hope to attract a more niche market to build up awards for the film.

This is a pre release screening for the film monsters. This is when they show the film to an audience so the producers can see what audience is their target market is, what they thought of it and if there is anything they liked or they think they can improve. Therefore after this they will go back and work on the film which might push back its release date. As you can see from the information they got from this it is clear that more males watched this film. It shows that they got the sources of information from reviews and advertisement therefore seeing reviews on TV and it being advertised in magazines or in posters. It shows why the audience came to the showing as well. From the information you can see that they came because they liked sci-fi films and that it sounded unique and original.

This is what we will do for our film trailer as it seems a good way for advertising is to the public and getting a good amount of feedback from the audience. Furthermore it shows us what our audience would be and where they got the sources of information which is why we are designing a poster and a magazine cover for our film Losing Eden.

I believe that the trailer is one of the most important ways to advertise your film as it shows you everything the audience wants to see. For example the actors who are in it. I sneak peak of the story line. What has happened and what will happen without revealing too much of the film.

This is what we did with our movie trailer. We showed a voice over saying what had happened to the world, this would draw the audience in because they would want to find out what has caused it. We showed them the main character in it and what he was running from which was the infected. We tried not to give too much away in the trailer as this would leave the audience thinking about what would happen next which is a good marketing technique to draw the audience in to watch your film. In our trailer we drew them in by the type of music, the titles that we put on the screen like ‘EAT’ ‘SLEEP’ ‘SURVIVE’ we showed a bit of the setting to show the abandoned world where he's left the main city and hiding from something.

We are going to release our film in the summer time because it is a time where not a lot of dystopian films come out at this time which will mean less competition for us we want to release it in the summer holidays as our audience wont have any school/college etc. on at this time and if there is a rainy day in England then they can to go to the cinema instead. As you can see from the releases on the left this is when we would like to release our film as there are no films apart from the Purge 2 that are similar to ours therefore this would be a good time for us to release Losing Eden here.

We have chosen a mainstream distribution company (Warner Brother) we did this because we can afford the more expensive forms of advertising for example posters that go on bus shelters, billboards, at the cinema, in magazines and newspapers and online. Posters are a good way to advertise our film because it reaches a wider audience, this is a good way as not everyone has internet these days and might see the poster on a bus and it might make them want to see it. This generally reaches an older audience, however, posters are seen by everyone. Widening our target audience, which looking at the polls is a popular form of advertising. The poster that our group have is either my character holding a weapon in his hand to show that he is running or defending himself from something. We want to do this because it gives off the dystopian feel to it and shows that my character isn't afraid of killing. Or the second idea we had we my character not looking at the camera with him facing away from it in an abandoned area to show the loneliness. He would be looking over his shoulder with a weapon in his hand. This gives off the impression that he always needs to be looking over his shoulder as anything could sneak up on him.

Conventions:This poster it shows the actors name ‘Will Smith’ this is a good way to draw in audience as most people know Will Smiths films are always a success. There is the tag line which is at the top of the poster, the main picture which is in the middle showing the main character. Under that it shows the title of the film which is ‘I am legend’ it shows the production blub at the bottom followed by the release date.Fonts:The fonts in this are fairly similar to the colour in the poster, there isn't much colour in the font and it gets smaller to bigger to show more of an impact

Colour:There isn't much colour in this poster to show something is wrong with the world and that something catastrophic has happened

Tagline:In this poster the tag line is ‘the last man on the earth is not alone’ this draws in the audience by this little line as it makes the audience think what has happened, why is he alone, what else is out there. This tagline just gives a little hint to the audience.Image:As you can see from this image they show the main character (Robert Neville) and his dog (Sam) it shows him armed and in a destroyed city which was New York. This is a good way to draw in the audience as they would want to know what has happened.

Conventions:In this poster it includes the 2 main actors Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman. Is then shows the title of the film ‘The book of Eli’. It then shows the Tagline of the film. Below that the production blub and lastly the release date. Behind all of that is shows a massive image of the main character.

Fonts:For this fonts they have made it colourless and grey to show a dystopian look on the film. Old, grainy and dull. This shows what type of film it will be.

Colour:Most Dystopian posters don’t have a lot of colour in to show the devastation. This s a prime example as the colours and very dark to show the break in the equilibrium

Tagline:In this poste the tagline is ‘Some will kill to have it, he will kill to defend it’ This draws in the audience because they don’t know what he is trying to defence, all they might guess is it’s a about a book. This shows whatever he has is of great value.

Image:The image of this is a massive picture of the main character (Eli) sitting down outside of a destroyed city with a gun. This shows that something has happened to the world there are people out there who are dangerous.

From looking at the other conventions of the posters I think its important to show who the main character is as you can see who is in it as sometimes people want to see films in with well known actors as they know it will be a watchable. I feel that as most posters it is important to have the main character looking out at the audience even though we don’t think we will use this in our film poster as we want to be unique. It is important to have the actors names and even the director as some people Will want to know who made to as they can Base it on their previous films. (Our poster not yet complete)

This is a way to promote your magazine. This is important a this will be the image that people will always see on the front of your magazine. For example empire has their name in massive capitals that will either be in front or behind the main image on their magazine, it is mostly red writing however they can use the colour white depending on the background. They use red because it is a powerful colour that they can see easily. It is sometimes behind the image as it is a well known brand so they don’t really mind that n image is in front of it as people will still recognise it. Promotional artefacts are very important to companies like empire as this is how they sell their products.

Masthead:This is the name of the magazine, it is in large white writing so it still stands out so people can see it. With empire they can put an image in front of the title because they know that people will still recognise the name.

Main text:This is the largest text on the magazine, this shows what is the main story in this issue and what its most focused on. ‘Downey jr.’s lethal weapon flies solo’ gives the audience a clue to what the film will be about to draw them in and for them to want to find out what will happen.

The text at the top is another important story that the empire wants to show off as its about a new star wars film so this will appeal to star was fans as well. It also shows that there are more stories in this issue.

Tagline:The worlds biggest movie magazine. This just shows a little something about the magazine to show its probably the best one to buy that will give you information about everything.

Image:This image of iron man is the main feature to this magazine, they use the main character from the film (Robert Downey jr) to represent it.

This is another story that the empire is talking about and shows a well known actor to draw the audience in. it also gives a tagline beneath his name to make the audience more interested.

This is the date of the issue and the price of the magazine so the buyer can see it’s a new issue and how much it is straight away

Plus:This is just another few titles to draw the audience in even more. It shows why 2013 is the year of fear and that they go on set for jack Ryan and fast and furious 6 just to show how much this magazine has to offer

Masthead:Total film is similar to empire it had the name of the magazine behind the main character as they know people will recognise the magazine straight away. With this edition of total film they the relate the title to the film.

At the top of the magazine it tells the audience that this one is a mind blowing issue. This will make them more interested in the magazine as they will want to know what is in the magazine that makes in mind blowing.

This is the date of the issue and the price of the magazine so the buyer can see it’s a new issue and how much it is straight away.

Main text:This is the largest text on the magazine, this shows what is the main story in this issue and what its most focused on. As you can see inception is the main focus. Inside the ultimate head trip. This gives the audience a clue about the film and also confused them so it will make them want to read more.

Sub headings:This shows other films that they are talking about in this magazine. For example predators and clash of the titans. This helps sell the magazine as it shows they talk about a lot more than just one film.

Extras:Here is shows that they will also be talking about the new film Tron in great details. This will draw in a wider range of audience as the film Tron has been made before and this will tell them about the remake.

Plus:This magazine also tells the audience about the 27 top mind blowing movies ever!’ this will interest the audience as movie lovers would love to know this information. It also shows other bits of information that will excite some audiences.

This shows the main actor Leonardo Dicaprio's looking at the audience to give us an idea who's in the new film.

Masthead:It’s placed in front of the main character as it’s not an established magazine. They need people to recognise it. It also includes the price and the barcode so people can see straight away how much it is.DesignLittle white lies magazine is unique as the front covers are usually pictures of moves that have been drawn on which looks really clever and artistic which may target a younger audience.Layout:Unlike other magazines like empire and total film this magazine is different from the others as it doesn’t have any previews of what else it has in the issue, focusing on one main film only.

Title:This shows that the main film they are concentrating on is attack the block, it is written in writing to match the magazine design

Image: This shows the main characters and introduces the audience who it is, as you can see his is looking at the audience but is looking down to give it some mystery.

Colour:This magazine uses the same colours in this cover. This gives us an idea that it will be a dark film the involves space

The magazine we are going to choose for our film is little white lies. We want to go with this brand because we think it is unique and we like the design on the magazine. Even though our film is a mainstream film we would rather go with little white lies than the empire. However saying this little white lies does also advertise big movies like man of steel and Django. Therefore it shows that it doesn’t only advertise indie films. You can find little white lies on Facebook and twitter and like their page or follow them. It shows all kinds

For our magazine cover we used the a very similar font from our trailer to match the font on the front of the magazine of little white lies. We did this because it had to match so that people would remember it more and they will know that it relates to our trailer. Even though we didn’t use the same font we still put the writing in red to show it is connected. Magazine cover:

This is our final film poster, as you can see from this we showed that it is a dark film by the lack of bright colours in the poster, we showed that is it set in a woods and that I'm an aggressive person carrying a bloody clever . The writing that we used is the same as we used in the trailer to show its connection to the film.
