As a result of this it is currently laden with being the main centre for carrying out numerous activities. The proposed cultural centre, to be built just outside the north east corner of the park, hopes to take some burden off of the national park as well as to introduce new activities to the park. Considerations must also be made so that activities taking place in the park are not repeated in the cultural centre therefore rendering them redundant. Another consideration to be made is that the large green space of the park is (in my opinion) the most beautiful element of Georgetown. It would be a giant waste if this neighbouring structure did not take advantage of its neighbour’s beauty. A method of capturing this was to make the typically interior gymnasium a large open space with minimum structure walls. Most walls utilized in the structure would ideally be temporary partition walls which will be kept open and free except during special events. By keeping the structure open, airy and lightly sheltered, it should also help create an effective transition for those moving between the park and the community centre thus enforcing a familiar link between them. To further enforce this, it is highly recommended that some form of physical link be made connecting the main path of the park to the structure. These 2 concepts are the main driving forces in this design in creating what I hope will be a structure that becomes an important appendage to the park. courtyard main entry mashramani hall 1 2 3 Georgetown National Park
