Our HistoryGeorgialina Physical Therapy was founded in the year 2000 as the only Outpatient Physical Rehabilitation Agency in the greater Augusta, GA area.

Initially, two locations were established, West Augusta and North Augusta. Expansion continued with the addition of clinics in Aiken SC, South Augusta GA, Grovetown, GA, Martinez GA, Evans GA and on-site at the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site.

In 2014, GPT entered a new market, Fort Mill, SC, to begin the development of a network of clinics in Upstate South Carolina. In 2016, the North Georgia market opened with the development of a new clinic in Braselton, GA. Aggressive expansion plans call for additional clinics in the Augusta, Charlotte, and North Georgia markets through 2020.

Our MissionGPT is 100% locally owned and operated and we pride ourselves on having friendly, professional staff that are dedicated to providing our patients with the highest quality care and service available.

We have clinic locations that are convenient to most of our patients’ work or home. Our goal is to provide a clinic location within a 10-minute drive time for all citizens of any community we serve. We understand that our patients are too busy to spend time in a waiting room and pride ourselves on average wait times of five minutes or less in all of our clinics.

Meet the OwnersMichelle Jones earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from Daemen College in Amherst, New York in 1990 and moved south shortly thereafter.  She spent her first ten years practicing physical therapy at a non-profit facility specializing in outpatient orthopedics and occupational medicine.

In 2000, she and  Brett Brannon became partners and founded Georgialina Physical Therapy.  Michelle is an active member of both the Private Practice Section and the South Carolina Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association.

“It is such a pleasure to work with a team of dedicated professionals who genuinely love what they do, provide outstanding care to their patients and show respect and kindness to one another.  I am proud of the company we have built that is respected in our community, preferred by our referring physicians and loved by our patients.”

Brett Brannon has been active in Senior Management positions in the Augusta, GA healthcare marketplace for over 30 years. Eighteen years ago he and Michelle founded Georgialina Physical Therapy and have guided the strategic growth of our company to 13 locations in 6 counties throughout Georgia and South Carolina.

In addition to successfully growing our company, Brett continuously works to improve our community through his service on many local and regional Boards and Foundations.

“Like many companies, at GPT our team is focused on providing the best possible clinical outcomes for our patients and being responsive to our care partners. But it takes more than that to have a company where team members are excited to build a career. At GPT, we understand the value of listening, supporting and growing our employees to help them reach their goals in life.”

Meet the Lead Therapists

Our lead therapists represent management for each individual clinic. This allows clinic staff to be in constant contact with their supervisor and allows our leads to make decisions based on what is best for the specific clinic. We believe it is important to have management who understand what it means to do the job of those they over-see and develop relationships on a daily basis. Our leads are all previous and current therapists in our clinics who showed the initiative to grow within our company.

SHAUN BUNING, PT, DPT, ATC, C/NDT: Shaun received his DPT from the University of Mississippi in 2011. He is also a Certified Athletic Trainer with specialty training in Sportsmetrics, BPPV treatment, and neurodevelopmental training. He is the lead therapist for Martinez, West, and Riverwood locations.

“The opportunity to work in an outpatient setting with a diverse caseload and assistance from multiple therapists with varying certifications, experience and skills make GPT an ideal place to start a career.”

BRITTNEY HARRELL, PT, DPT, OCS: Brittney graduated with her DPT from the MedicalCollege of Geogia in 2012. She is the lead therapist of our North Augusta location. Her specialty training includes a Sportmetrics certification for ACL prevention and Orthopedic Certified Specialization.

“I feel I have the support here to pursue any special interests related to treating patients.”

SARA ROBERTS, PT, DPT: Sara attended UNC-Chapel Hill and received a BS in Psychology before graduating with her DPT from Elon University in 2007. She runs our Aiken clinic and our on-site location at Savannah River Site.

“I had the opportunity to develop my career into a managerial role and be a part of the growth and devel-opment of our company, and I don’t believe I would have had that at any other company.”

JUSTIN HORNE, PT, DPT: Justin graduated from the Medical College of Georgia with his DPT in 2013 after receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Erskine College. Justin is currently the Lead Therapist for our South Augusta and Hephzibah locations since 2013.

“The community within Georgialina staff is great and something that made me want to make a career here. We help each other like a family, while making our primary concern giving the best care to our patients.”

KAITLIN MERWIN, PT, DPT, OCS: Kaitlin graduated with her DPT from North Georgia University after attending UGA for her undergraduate studies. She opened and manages our location in Braselton, GA which specializes in aquatic therapy and women’s health.

“I wanted to work at Georgialina because of the “family” dynamic. I didn’t want to be just a number at my job. I have developed close friendships with the majority of our staff members.”

See what our Patients Have to Say About Us!

“I adore my therapists at Georgialina because they have given me back my active life. I have gone from wheelchair to walker to fully functioning great grandmother. I could not have done this without the help of my physical therapy team”-Patsy Welch

“I love this team! They were always friendly and lively. Seemed like they never had bad days. I truly enjoyed my time here and would definitely come back if I needed to.”-Megan Wilson

“Aqua therapy has been an important element of my knee and leg therapy treatment. I began with the the goals of improving my overall mobility and range of motion as well as reduction of my knee pain. For many years, I was unable to bend my left knee or walk up stairs using alternate legs. The water therapy has allowed me to bare more weight on my legs and to strengthen them with water resistance.”-Ken Klein

“I appreciate the patience and the care they gave. I appreciate the advice on doing exercises at home. They helped me reach my goal of 99% no pain or numbness/tingling. I certainly would recommend Georgialina.”

“This was my first time ever having to do PT and when I first came I didn’t know what to expect, but I tell you I met an awesome staff. This was truly an experience I haven’t felt in many years-- the genuine concern, love and support that I saw each staff member display was extraordinary. When the other staff came from other facilities they blended right on in. It is very rare to find a place that deals with all sorts of people from different walks of life and caters to each individual’s personal needs, but this establishment right here did just that and you are #1 in my book.”-Sharon Houston
