Gerda Fandrich
Gerda Fandrich has lived in Abbotsford and enjoyed award-‐winning Clearbrook water since 1979. Since 2011 she has been honoured to serve as a trustee of the Clearbrook Waterworks District.
Gerda's 30+ years of service to this community began in 1985 when she was elected to the Abbotsford School Board. She was re-‐elected eight times for a total of 23 years of service as a trustee. She was elected chairman and became the first woman to be elected chair of the Abbotsford School Board in four decades and served as vice-‐chair six times.
Gerda was named Abbotsford Woman of the Year in 2008 and one of Abbotsford's 100 Most Influential People in 2009.
Gerda's service to the community over the years has included the following:
� Abbotsford Community Foundation Director -‐ longest serving member and scholarship donor � Fraser Valley Regional Library Board -‐ instigated and chaired first long-‐term planning committee � University College of the Fraser Valley Community Council � Abbotsford Recreation Commission � BC Summer Games Committee � MSA Museum Society � Abbotsford Museum Task Force � Abbotsford Arts Council � Literacy Matters Abbotsford Committee � Abbotsford Traffic Safety Advisory Committee
Gerda is presently a board member of the Bakerview Music Academy and is a partner with her husband in a forestry-‐related business.
The Clearbrook Waterworks Board and staff have very capably and economically overseen the functioning and maintenance of the Clearbrook water supply. Our water is a valuable community resource and I am prepared and willing to apply my community service experience to help preserve and expand our excellent water supply.
