• “He went to gerund!” or “I’m every sentence part, it’s all in meeee, my name is gerund, I end in –ing!”
• A gerund is a verb+ing and it can act as any sentence part (subject, verb, DO, IO, object of the preposition, etc.)
• Turn to page 140, Exercise B in the Grammar for Writing workbook at your tables.
•Rewrite #1-5 in your Source Book as the directions in the work book specify (say to do).

Writing Prompt- (TAPP)Today marks the first teacher strike in chicago in many decades. Teacher’s have organized to protest unfair wages, diminished health care coverage for their families and poor learning conditions for the children.
How can you help solve the problems causing this strike? Come up with a plan to end the strike and put teacher’s back into the classroom where the children need them most.
