Let’s Act Well in Life
In life sometimes more than the length of the work, it’s
effectiveness matters which cannot be judged only by it’s
quantity. Sometimes even a small incident or even a short
story can give us those lessons of life which relieve us from
all possible predicaments. Following are few very short
stories engulfed with some of the inspiring lessons of life.
Story 1: A snowman was parched and was craving for water.
Suddenly out came the sun to instantly make him realise that
he was water.
Life Lesson: Sometimes we don’t realise our inner strengths
while others easily do.
Story 2: He won the debate hands down with compelling oration on “vegetarianism”, the need of an hour. An
hour later, he celebrated his uncontested victory with his besties at a chicken corner.
Life Lesson: Only say or do the things in which you truly believe in or follow. Life does not demand right words;
it needs right action.
Story 3: A woodcutter, inhabited at the edge of what was once a forest, clung onto the very last tree to save
himself from being swept away by the flash floods. Slogans that he completely disregarded and dissed all through
his life flashed before his eyes,” Save Trees, Trees Save Lives…..”
Life Lesson: We should not wait for crisis to realize the importance of righteousness.
Story 4: The Poet said to the Moon “He accompanied you all the while to make you shine.”
The Moon asked “You mean …the Sun?
The poet smiled & replied, “No, I meant the darkness.”
Life Lesson: Challenging tasks are necessary for us to shine brighter.
Story 5: There was a king who was blind. Once, he called three painters to paint his portrait. The first painter
painted the king as the sighted one (which was not true), the second painter painted him straight away as blind
(which was true but expressed in a harsh manner), and the third painter painted him as the person shooting an
arrow with his both eyes closed (truth in a dignified manner).
Life Lesson: Truth is like a surgery, it hurts but cures. Lie is like a pain killer; it gives instant relief but
has side effects forever
Thus, everybody has some or the other weaknesses but how to make others realize the same depends on our
attitude. As rightly said truth is generally harsh but choice of our words/expression makes it easier for the people
to accept and understand.
We live in a society full with diverse individuals where handling of facts delicately makes people more comfortable
to accept.

Health benefits of regular cycling
Cycling is mainly an aerobic activity, which means that your heart, blood vessels and lungs all get
a workout. You will breathe deeper, perspire and experience increased body temperature, which
will improve your overall fitness level.
CYCLING AND SPECIFIC HEALTH ISSUES
Cycling can improve both physical and mental health, and can reduce the chances of experiencing
many health problems.
Obesity and weight control
Cycling is a good way to control or reduce weight, as it raises your metabolic rate, builds muscle and burns
body fat. If you’re trying to lose weight, cycling must be combined with a healthy eating plan. Cycling is a
comfortable form of exercise and you can change the time and intensity – it can be built up slowly and varied
to suit you.
Research suggests you should be burning at least 8,400 kilojoules (about 2,000 calories) a week through
exercise. Steady cycling burns about 1,200 kilojoules (about 300 calories) per hour.
If you cycle twice a day, the kilojoules burnt soon add up. British research shows that a half-hour bike ride
every day will burn nearly five kilograms of fat over a year
Cancer and cycling
Many researchers have studied the relationship between exercise and cancer, especially colon and breast
cancer. Research has shown that if you cycle, the chance of bowel cancer is reduced. Some evidence
suggests that regular cycling reduces the risk of breast cancer.
Diabetes and cycling
The rate of type 2 diabetes is increasing and is a serious public health concern. Lack of physical activity is
thought to be a major reason why people develop this condition. Large-scale research in Finland found that
people who cycled for more than 30 minutes per day had a 40 per cent lower risk of developing diabetes.
Bone injuries, arthritis and cycling
Cycling improves strength, balance and coordination. It may also help to prevent falls and fractures. Riding
a bike is an ideal form of exercise if you have osteoarthritis, because it is a low-impact exercise that places
little stress on joints.
Cycling does not specifically help osteoporosis (bone-thinning disease) because it is not a weight-bearing
exercise.
Mental illness and cycling
Mental health conditions such as depression, stress and anxiety can be reduced by regular bike riding. This
is due to the effects of the exercise itself and because of the enjoyment that riding a bike can bring.
It is our duty to keep the Environment safe and clean.
As more often we use fossil fuels vehicles than cycle it increases pollution
on Earth.
To contribute to the Environmental & to Encourage the use of CYCLE in
daily life, we are going to Organize cycling marathon
So, participate and win the title.
