Scholarships are administered by Lincoln Land Community College. See your advisor for application information. Dayton Emory of Springfield (pictured left) received a 2019-2020 scholarship. He is pursuing a two-year Associates Degree and then plans to transfer to another college or university to purse a bachelor’s degree in cinematography. The Francis W. Wenzel Scholarship, for a University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) student, provides $1500 for one academic year. Scholarships are administered by the University of Illinois Springfield. See your advisor for application information. Divinity Rhodes of Springfield received a 2019-2020 Scholarship. She is a UIS Sophomore and is pursuing a degree in biology with a pre-med concentration. She plans to attend medical school and become a surgeon to achieve her goal to help other people. Rotary District 6460 Undergraduate Scholarships provide: • $3000 payable to a College, University, or an approved vocational school for tuition, books, and/ or other university fees. Student applicants: • Must reside, go to school, or have graduated from a school in District 6460; and have completed at least 24 university credit hours. • Must be pursuing a degree in a Rotary International Focus area: Water and Sanitation Basic Education and Literacy Disease Prevention and Treatment Maternal and Child Health Economic and Community Development Peace and Conflict Prevention. The application deadline is May 31 each year. Menghini Rotary District 6460 International Ambassadorial Scholarship: • Provides $18,000 payable to a college or university for a student to pursue graduate studies abroad for a full academic year in the field of their choice. • Requires that the applicant reside, go to school, or have graduated from a school in District 6460 and must have completed a minimum of 48 university credit hours. • Has recently supported scholars who studies in South Africa, Mexico, Germany and Australia. Nicole Knoles of Springfield (second from right) received a prestigious Menghini International Ambassadorial Scholarship in 2019. She graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2018 with a B.A. in Languages, Cultures, and International Studies with a focus on German language and Europe. She was working as an English Teaching Assistant at Hermann-Lietz Schule in Haubinda, Germany when she applied for the scholarship to support graduate school in World Heritage Studies at Brandenburg University of Technology in Cottbus-Senftenberg in Brandenburg, Germany. Members of the Rotary Club of Springfield and District 6460 interviewed her at the Rotary International meeting in Germany (picture above), and nominated her for the award. With support from the scholarship, she is pursuing a dual degree program in World Heritage Studies at the Brandenburg University and Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia. The International Master’s program in World Heritage Studies is the first to design its curriculum around the UNESCO Convention Concerning the Protection of World Cultural and Natural Heritage.
