About the logo on merchandise • Merchandise requires a logo with the registered trademark
symbol: ®
• An embroidery-friendly logo is available for clothing
• Contact [email protected] for either of these logos. They
aren’t available for download.

About clothing and merchandise • Go with primary brand colors for clothing: scarlet, gray,
black or white (No one wants a maize and blue shirt with our logo!!)
• If you are giving shirts or promotional items to an employee, the cost is considered a taxable fringe benefit and the employee will be subject to payroll tax
• Check with the college business office for more information • Information also available here:

Approval Process
• Send your design to the college brand team:
• Once approved, fill out Trademark and Licensing’s request form,
found at: trademarklicensing.osu.edu/page/department-request/
• Send the request form and the approved art to Karen Dertinger at
• Use only approved vendors
