Anyone who is serious about list building uses them. !Just in case you were wondering… This is a pop over. A pop over is an opt-in web form that appears on top of the web page you are viewing. !

! !A light-box works the same way a pop-up works, but the rest of the web page is darkened, to make the form stand out. !!!!GetResponse Get Your First 1,000 Subscribers!! ! ! !

!You can create pop overs & light-boxes in your GetResponse account !Go to the dashboard view in your account and click Web Forms > Web Forms List !

! !You’ll see the form we created earlier !

You’ll be asked which campaign to add the form to !

! !Select the correct campaign (it will turn blue once selected) and then click the blue “copy” button. !We now have a duplicate form. !

! !Click “edit” on the new form (the one with no views). !Now we’re going to customize this form so it looks good as a light-box. We could also make a pop over form. I just prefer light-boxes because they focus the visitor’s attention better. !GetResponse Get Your First 1,000 Subscribers!! ! ! !

! !First, we’ll change this from an embedded form into a light-box. Click on the “Form Type” pull-down menu. You’ll see a gray row below it with “Width” and “Type”. !The default for “Type” is “Embedded”. But if you click on it, you’ll see options for “Pop Over” and “Lightbox”. Select “Lightbox”. !

! !Now you’ll see the options for the light-box !

! !1) Set the width to 400 so the light-box fills the space better. 2) Set the Delay to 20 seconds so people don’t see it too soon. 3) Set the “After every” setting to every 3 days, so people don’t see it too often. 4) Leave the “Effect” setting as “Fade”. 5) Click “Save and Continue”. !!!!GetResponse Get Your First 1,000 Subscribers!! ! ! !

You’ll see this: !

! !Leave the settings on the next page as is, EXCEPT: Add “light-box” to the name of your form. Click “Next Step”. !!On the next page click “Show Javascript Code”, copy it, and paste it on to your site. Don’t use the HTML code unless you absolutely have to. If you use the HTML code and have to make changes to the form later, you’ll have to paste in the updated code all over into your site. If you use the javascript code, any changes you make will be automatically updated on your site. !
