1. IntroductionDisplays from GhosT-OLED series are transparent OLED (T-OLED) screens in FullHD resolution with low temperature poly silicon TFTs. The transmittance of the screen is approx. 45% (only T-OLED, without cover glass). Thanks to OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) technology, the display shows excellent images even at high viewing angle and has a very low power consumption. The transparency is achieved by adding a fourth segment into the sub pixel structure which usually consists of three sub pixel emitting red, green and blue light. This fourth segment is transparent and compared to the other sub pixel the largest one. As OLED is a self-emitting technology, there is, unlike to LCDs, no need for backlight. Displaying black content on a transparent OLED display will make this content appear transparent. Usually GhosT-OLED Displays are bonded with an anti-reflective, tempered front glass. GhosT-OLEDs are optionally available with a primeTOUCH system based on IR diodes. Custom solutions with GhosT-OLED Displays can be discussed with our team.

3. How to use the GhosT-OLED seriesTo avoid damage on the screen such as image retention and to extend the lifetime of the screen,
please follow the operating instructions mentioned below.
3.1 Normal operating conditions a) Temperature: 25 +/-10°C
b) Humidity: 55 +/-20%
c) Brightness Average: 75nit
d) Display pattern should be changing continuously (moving images or still images that alter
regularly, avoid long static images)
e) No sunlight or any other warm light sources directed onto the screen
f) Only indoor operation
g) T-OLED must be protected from UV light
3.2 Avoid abnormal operating conditions If the screen is operating under abnormal (1) operating conditions please observe the following
details:
a) Set up the screen in a well ventilated place
b) Save the screen by periodical power off and/or screensaver
3.3 Precautions to prevent damage due to static images a. Operating time is under 12 hours a day
b. Moving images shall be periodically inserted between static images
c. Change background and character colours periodically
d. Avoid combining the colour for the background with the colour for a character, with a largely
different luminance (for example black background and white letters)
Note (1): An abnormal condition means any condition that is different to the normal operating
conditions.
Note (2): The lifetime stated in this document can only be guaranteed if the Display is operated
under regular conditions.
Note (3): Clean the system regularly, make sure to use proper materials for cleaning to avoid any
damage.

3.4 Pixel-Shift Functionality (Screensaver) The OLED panel has a build in Pixel-Shift feature which will help to prevent image retention damages.
Note (1): The listed precautions in this document regarding suitable operating conditions will
maintain.
The maximum offset during shifting image is about 16 pixels. This leads to the fact that content will
partly be shifted out of the active screen area and not be shown. Also there will be parts of the active
screen area that will not show content. Figure 9 illustrates this functionality.
In case of using the T-OLED together with a touch input device, calibration will not remain precise all
the time.
Figure 9: Pixel-Shift
Note (2): Interactive content that is meant to be used with the T-OLED touchscreen version should be
adapted to the Pixel-Shift functionality.
3.4 Other important notes a. Avoid too much force or strong impacts on the screen
b. Do not throw anything at the screen
c. If the screen breaks, be very careful as broken fragments may cause injuries
d. Furthermore if the screen is broken, always unplug all power supplies and other cables
from the display. Otherwise electric shock may result and lead to serious injury
e. Do not open the housing of the display. If you still need to open the housing, unplug all
power cords and other cables. Otherwise electric shock may result and lead to serious
injury
f. Do not touch the broken glass with bare hands. Be very careful and use appropriate
safety tools as the broken fragments can cause injury
g. In case of injury caused due to contact with broken glass, especially in the eyes or face,
please seek medical help immediately.
