The purpose of ISF is to enhance long-term growth of the staffing industry and to ensure its continued ability to make positive contributions to the economy and society. Gi Group being founding member of ISF plays an important role in functioning of ISF and in enhancing its clout and role among Staffing industry companies in India. The International Confederation of Private Employment Services Ciett and the European Confederation of Private Employment Services Eurociett are the authoritative voice representing the common interests of the agency work industry around the world and in Europe. HISTORY1998 Birth of Générale Industrielle.

2004Acquisition of WorkNet, the employment agency of Fiat Group. The new entity becomes the first Italian player, with a turnover of 320 million Euros and 190 branches.

2005 The group enters the outplacement business (DBM Italia).

2007 The group begins its international expansion with acquisitionsin Germany and Poland.

2008 Générale Industrielle and WorkNet merge into one brand: Gi Group, the biggest Italian job agency, providing temporary staffing, Search and Selection, training, outplacement, insourcing and outsourcing, HR Consultancy and payrolling. The expansion programme goes on: China and Hong Kong, France, Brazil, Spain and India.

2009 Gi Group makes an important acquisition in Romania.

2010 Gi Group establishes a presence in Argentina. At the end of the year Gi Group joins CIETT, the world association of employment agencies, as a Global Corporate Member.

2011 Gi Group makes an important acquisition in the UK market and enters in Eastern Europe. On December 1st, 2011, DBM Italy was rebranded and became INTOO.

2012 In 2012 Asset Management, a company specialising in training and staff development systems, became part of the Group.

2013Since February, the HR Consulting practice becomes international and unified under a single brand, OD&M Consulting.In May, the mid-level search and selection practice is rebranded and by the end of the year it is run entirely under the one Wyser trade name.

2014Gi Group enlarges its presence in several countries thanks to partnership agreements. Gi Group also establishes a direct presence in Turkey.

2015New opening - Portugal, Netherlands and Slovakia.

ASIM HANDACEO, GI GROUP INDIA CEO, ELIXIR CONSULTING

Asim Handa is the CEO of Gi Group in India. He is responsible for the strategy, direction and growth of business operations across the company’s product portfolio. An expert in Human Resource and business development, he brings rich and varied experience of over three decades in talent consulting and manpower strategy.

Prior to joining Gi Group, Mr. Handa was the Managing Director of Futurestep India, a Korn/Ferry company. He was successful in setting footprint of Futurestep in India and was responsible for the strategy, management and the operations for the company in India. In the past, Mr. Handa was Head of Talent Search at EXL Service, a leading US registered BPO company in India. During his tenure, he was recognized for his achievements in conceptualizing and scaling up the Organization’s hiring capability from 1500 to 5000 employees per annum. He began his career with Modi Xerox in 1983 and successfully marketed the Xerox brand in India.

Being a prolific writer he has contributed, both in the electronic and the print media. Mr. Handa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Sri Ram College of Commerce and a Masters Degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics.
