5. The simple future tense:a. The usage :Usage exampleTo express an intention which is decided at the moment of speaking

For a future action that is planned at the moment of speaking

For future events that are influenced by external, not personal forces

To express the speaker’s opinion about the future

In the main clause of a conditional sentence type 1 to show a real event.

If it rains ,I will stay at home.

For determination(quyÕt t©m), invitation. In this case, the structure is equivellent to “ would like”

Will you have some more wine?Will you marry me?

b. Forms:- Affirmative :

S + will + V(infinitive)- Negative :

S + will + not+V(infinitive)?

- Interrogative :will +S + V(infinitive)?

Ex: Will you marry me ?-> Yes, I will / No, I won’t

* Notes : - Adverbs of time used in this tense are usually tomorrow, next

week/month/year...- Shall is normally used for the pronouns I and we ; and will for all

other pronouns- We use “ be going to” instead of the future simple tense for future actions that depend on a person’s will and not on external forces (E.g time, condition, weather,etc.)

Revision of past simple1. Thì quá khứ đơn với động từ TOBE:* Khẳng định: S + was/ were I, he, she, it + was you, we, they + were * Phủ định: S + was/ were + not* Nghi vấn: Was/ Were + S...?2. Thì quá khứ đơn với động từ thường:* Khẳng định: S + V2/ V-ed=> Đã học đến thì quá khứ đơn này thì các em nên có 1 bảng động từ bất quy tắc để chia động từ cho đúng. Khi biết động từ chỗ đó được chia ở thì quá khứ đơn, trước tiên các em nên xem đó là động từ TOBE hay động từ thường. Nếu là động từ TOBE thì ta chia theo công thức ở trên. Nếu là động từ thường thì ta xem động từ đó có trong bảng động từ bất quy tắc hay không => Nếu có trong bảng động từ bất quy tắc thì ta tra cột 2 của động từ đó là gì rồi chọn động từ trong cột 2 đó => Nếu không có trong bảng động từ bất quy tắc thì ta thêm -ed vào sau dạng nguyên thể của động từ.Ex:She was sick yesterday.
