1 About This Release

This is a patch release specifically for the purpose of deploying a small number of critical bug fixes. Cumulatively, patch 1 and patch 2 correct problems in the following areas:

1099 processing

PGM gift import

CashTrac See the Fixed Issues section below for specific bug descriptions.

1.1 Support

2 Fixed Issues

The following bugs have been fixed in this release.

If payments have been issued after death, the system generates a message that says those payments must be voided. That is incorrect. Payments made after the date of death can be non-reclaimed. Validation must account for this scenario. Validation needs to be against the date of last entitled payment date.

Record death fails and throws and error when there are tax tiers for two beneficiaries and the second beneficiary dies. The problem occurs when you record the death or sever the income interest where:

the second beneficiary associated with a 2-life charitable gift annuity dies and,

the date of death occurred during the year referenced in the first tax row (year the gift was funded) or a date within the second tax row (normal taxation row on the taxation schedule where payments are taxed exactly the same for a range of years).

When a death is recorded prior to the first payment of the year, an exception is thrown in all cases. For example, when a donor dies on 2/1, and the first payment is on 3/31, an exception is thrown.

GiftWrap incorrectly handles a tax situation in which an annuitant has taxable income for 2011 for some gifts, but not for a gift or gifts where the date of gift is in 2011 but with no reportable income for 2011. The program correctly generates a 1099-R Summary report, but fails to generate a 1099-R form for 2011. The problem:

An annuitant has reportable income in 2011 for one or more gifts.

Bug# Description Status

The annuitant added a new gift or gifts late in 2011 with first payment due in 2012.

When the 2011 1099-R Summary report is generated, the 1099-R summary report displays a message indicating no tax information for the 2011 gifts where the first tax row is in 2012. No error message should have been generated. However, the 1099-R Summary report does show the correct 2011 taxable information for the other gifts for which there is reportable income.

When attempting to print the 1099-R forms, the program generates another message indicating no tax information for the gift where there was no taxable income for 2011, which, while correct, should not have been displayed, as no error message should be generated to indicate no taxable income. The program also indicates in this error message that there was no tax information for the other gifts that did have reportable 2011 income. When the Continue button is clicked, the program does not produce a 2011 tax form for the annuitant for the reportable 2011 income.

Note that GiftWrap should NOT generate an error message for a gift dated in the current year that has no taxable income payable in the current year.

IMPORT .GFTX

FILE

When importing a gftx file, in some cases currency amounts are being rounded to 4 places but they must always be rounded to 2 places. Pennies should be balanced after rounding so that the total of payments is exactly equal to the tax tier total.

CASHTRAC

CashTrac is not debiting payments in some cases where the prior year is partial year. This happens in two instances, when there are two concurrent benes, and when there is a donor and bene-A. In both of these instances, the problem occurs when the Org year is different from the CashTrac year and the year is a partial year.

3 PGM Compatibility

Versions of PG Calc‟s Planned Giving Manager (PGM) prior to PGM 6.3, are not compatible with GiftWrap 4.0. As a result, you must upgrade to version 6.4 or later of Planned Giving Manager in order to successfully upload PGM gift files to GiftWrap 4.0. The compatible PGM gift files have a “.gftx” extension. To upgrade to PGM 6.4 or PGM 6.5, contact PG Calc Client Services at [email protected], or call 888-474-2252.

4 .gftx Org ID

GiftWrap 4.0 has the ability to import gift files created with PG Calc‟s Planned Giving Manager (PGM) software. GiftWrap 4.0 requires that the Org ID field in the GiftWrap gift information file (.gftx) generated by PGM is either unpopulated, or populated with the numeric value of the Org key from GiftWrap 4.0.

To obtain the Org key from GiftWrap 4.0:

1. Select Organization from the Setup menu.

2. From the Organization screen, click on the link with your Organization name. 3. Copy the Organization ID from the Organization Information screen.

To enter your Organization ID into PGM, do the following:

1. From the PGM Customize menu, select Organization Information

2. Double click on your Organization name. 3. Enter your Org ID from GiftWrap 4.0 into the GiftWrap organization key/ID field. (Note

that you can leave this field blank.)

4. Click Close. 5. Click Done. 6. Click the Close icon.

Note that an Org ID mismatch will cause GiftWrap 4.0 to generate a system exception error. That is, the Org ID in your gift file must match:

the Org ID of an organization associated with

the Charity

containing the person record to which you are adding a gift

Please note that you do not have to enter an Org ID in PGM. PGM gift files (.gftx) that contain no Org ID will be successfully uploaded by GiftWrap 4.0.

5 Browser Considerations

The following paragraphs describe browser-related issues that impact the proper operation of the GiftWrap 4.0 application.

5.1 Browser Resolution

GiftWrap 4.0 is designed to display correctly with a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768.

5.2 Delete Temporary Internet Files

With each new release, we recommend that you delete temporary Internet files saved by your system.

Certain GiftWrap 4.0 files are saved by your browser in order to limit the number of times the browser

has to go to the server to get these files. This is typically a good thing, as it improves performance and

page load time. However, in some instances, new functionality included in a release may not be available

to you unless you refresh and upload the latest GiftWrap 4.0 files.

To refresh your cache in IE, do the following:

1. Click on the Tools menu and select Delete Browsing History…

2. Make sure that Temporary Internet Files is selected and then click Delete.

To refresh your cache in Firefox, do the following:

1. Click on the Tools menu and select Clear Recent History…

2. In the Clear Recent History window, click on the Detail button and make sure that Cache is selected.

3. Next, select Everything in the Time range to clear: dropdown menu.

4. Next, click the Clear Now button.

Note that you can completely clear the cache in both IE and Firefox by pressing CTRL-F5.

However this method gives you less control than the methods described above.

5.3 Browser Add-Ons and IE Crashes

Add-ons, also known as ActiveX controls, browser extensions, browser helper objects, or toolbars, can improve your experience on a website by providing multimedia or interactive content, such as animations. However, some add-ons can cause your computer to stop responding or crash when you try to print a Web page.

If you suspect that browser add-ons are adversely affecting your computer, you might want to disable all add-ons to see if that solves the problem.

To disable all add-ons temporarily:

1. Click the Start button 2. Click All Programs 3. Click Accessories 4. Click System Tools 5. Click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)

If disabling all add-ons solves the problem, you might want to use Manage Add-ons to disable all add-ons permanently and then turn on add-ons only as you need them. To disable an add-on, follow the steps below.

To disable add-ons by using Manage Add-ons:

1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer.

2. Do one of the following:

o In Internet Explorer 8, click the Tools button, and then click Manage Add-ons.

o In Internet Explorer 7, click the Tools button, point to Manage Add-ons, and then click Enable or Disable Add-ons.

3. Do one of the following:

o In Internet Explorer 8, under Show, click All Add-ons.

o In Internet Explorer 7, in the Show list, click Add-ons currently loaded in Internet Explorer.

4. Click the add-on you want to disable, and then do one of the following:

o In Internet Explorer 8, click Disable.

o In Internet Explorer 7, under Settings, click Disable.

5. Repeat step 4 for every add-on you want to disable. When you are finished, click Close in Internet Explorer 8, or click OK in Internet Explorer 7.

5.4 Browser Performance

5.4.1 Recommended Browsers

GiftWrap 4.0 supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, and Firefox 3.5, Firefox 3.6, and Firefox 4.0. Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) and Mozilla Firefox have different implementations of their respective JavaScript engines. It is generally accepted throughout the software industry that Firefox‟s JavaScript engine implementation is more efficient and performs better than that of Internet Explorer. At the same time, GiftWrap 4.0 relies heavily on JavaScript to maintain session state and to provide a seamless and satisfying

user experience. As such, PG Calc strongly recommends the use of Firefox over Internet Explorer. That is not to say that IE won‟t work successfully with GiftWrap 4.0. It will. However, Firefox is faster. Note also that IE 8 incorporates an enhanced JavaScript engine, making IE 8 a better choice for GiftWrap 4.0 than IE 7.

When selecting and using a browser, it will be helpful to know what version of browser you are using. Follow these instructions to find browser version information:

1. Click on the Help menu selection

2. Select the About Internet Explorer menu item

3. View the version number

5.4.2 IE Trusted Sites

Adding GiftWrap 4.0 to your trusted site list can improve performance of the application in your browser. Follow these procedures to add GiftWrap to the trusted site list of Internet Explorer:

1. Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools-Internet Options-Security.

2. Click the "Security" tab and choose the "Trusted Sites" icon.

3. Then click on the button "Sites". A window will open, where you can add any sites that you wish to be in the Trusted zone. Be sure to remove the check by the entry "Require server verification (https:)...."

4. Enter https://giftwrap.pgcalc.com in the line provided. URLs can be typed in directly or entered by copying and pasting. A shortcut method of copying and pasting an URL from the IE address bar is to use the keyboard command ALT+D to select the Web address and then use CTRL+C to copy it to the Windows Clipboard. Then right-click in the space under "Add this Web site to the zone" and choose "Paste" from the context menu. After entering a site click the "Add" button.

5. The site is now added to the list of trusted sites.

5.4.3 Popups

The print process involves the display of a Print Options window. And it is preferable to display the download options window when downloading a file. These windows are popups, and in

order to successfully print GiftWrap reports and download files, you must set your browser to allow popups from GiftWrap.

5.4.3.1 Instructions for Firefox

1. Select Options under Tools in the browser main menu.

2. Select the Content tab and click on the Exceptions button across from the Block pop-up windows control.

3. Enter “giftwrap.pgcalc.com” in the Address of web site: field and click the Allow button. Finally, click the Close button.

5.4.3.2 Instructions for Internet Explorer

1. Click on the Tools menu and select Turn On Pop-up Blocker under the Pop-up Blocker menu selection.

2. Click on the Tools menu and select Pop-up Blocker Settings under the Pop-up Blocker menu selection.

4. View the Pop-up Blocker Settings window. Enter “giftwrap.pgcalc.com” in the “Address of website to allow.” field and click the Add button. Finally, click the Close button.

Toolbar Popup Blockers

Toolbars that may have been installed in your browsers, including the Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL and Comcast toolbars, include popup blockers. Please follow the instructions provided by the vendor for disabling the popup blockers for each of these toolbars.

5.5 Printing

Follow these steps to print a GiftWrap report:

1. Click on the Print icon

2. Select your print options from the Print Options window and click OK.

3. View the PDF Report Viewer window. Click on the Print icon. (You can save the PDF report at this point as well.)

4. View the Windows Print dialog box. Enter print driver settings (see Print Driver Settings below) and click OK.

5.6 Print Driver Settings

To ensure that your GiftWrap reports print correctly, you must input the following settings in the Windows Print dialog box:

5.7 File Downloads

You can download reports, IRS tax file, EFT payment file, raw report data and other output from GiftWrap. To set up your browser to enable these downloads, do the following:

5.7.1 Firefox:

1. Select Options under Tools in the browser main menu and click on the General tab.

2. At this point, you have two choices. a. You can click the “Save files to” radio button, browse your hard drive for the

desired download folder and click OK. With this option, your files will automatically be downloaded to the folder you have chosen.

b. Or, you can click the “Always ask me where to save files” radio button and click OK. With this option, you will get a browse window every time you download a file and you can choose your destination folder at that time.

5.7.2 Internet Explorer 7/8

1. Turn off Information bar messages about blocked pop-up windows: a. Open Internet Explorer. b. Click the Tools button, click Pop-up Blocker, and then click Pop-up Blocker

Settings. c. Clear the Show Information Bar when a pop-up is blocked check box, and

then click Close.

2. To stop the Information bar from blocking file downloads a. Open Internet Explorer. b. Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options. c. Click the Security tab, and then click Custom level. d. Do both of the following:

i. To turn off the Information bar for file downloads, scroll to the Downloads section of the list, and then, under Automatic prompting for file downloads, click Enable.

ii. To enable file download, click Enable under File Download. e. Click OK, click Yes to confirm that you want to make the change, and then click

OK again.

5.7.3 Internet Explorer 9

With IE 9, you can no longer configure the browser to prompt you for file download location. Instead, you can change the default download folder into which all downloads will automatically be saved. Follow the instructions below.

In Internet Explorer 9, Click the gear icon to access the menu then Select View Downloads.

At the top middle of the new window that appears, Click Options.

The download options dialog should now pop-up. Click Browse.

Select any folder anywhere on your computer, the one you choose will be where all of your downloads from Internet Explorer 9 will go. To lock in the selection, Click Select Folder.

Be sure to Click OK dialog box from Step 4 to save changes.

5.7.4 Alternative IE9 File Download Control

When you download a file in IE9, a download bar at the bottom of the browser appears. This download bar has a Save button with a drop down menu with the traditional „Save As‟ option. You may select this „Save As‟ option to select your download location.

6 Account Implementation

6.1 Evaluation Users

Evaluation users will be provisioned by the PG Calc Client Services organization in response to a request of an evaluation account. For each evaluation user, a client and an administrator account will be created. The evaluation site administrator will then log into GiftWrap and set up roles and user accounts as necessary. Two organizations with tutorial data will be provisioned with each evaluation implementation.

6.2 New Customers

6.2.1 Hosted Customers

New hosted customers will be provisioned by the PG Calc Client Services organization upon purchase of the GiftWrap product. For each new customer, a client and an administrator account will be provisioned. The customer site administrator will then log into GiftWrap and set up roles and user accounts as necessary.

6.2.2 Enterprise Customers

New enterprise customers will be provided with all necessary application software, installation scripts and documentation upon purchase of the GiftWrap product. PG Calc provides written installation instructions, and PG Calc Client Services will provide telephone support for all enterprise installations.

6.3 Current Customers

6.3.1 Hosted Customers

Current customers choosing the GiftWrap hosted option will be provisioned by the PG Calc Client Services organization on a scheduled basis. For each customer, a client and an administrator account will be provisioned. The customer site administrator will then log into GiftWrap and set up roles and user accounts as necessary.

PG Calc will convert customer data from GiftWrap 3.x to GiftWrap 4.0. PG Calc provides hosted customers with a secure, automated process for uploading customer data to PG Calc for conversion. Upon receiving customer data, PG Calc will convert and validate the data and will upload the data to the customer‟s GiftWrap database, at which time the data will be available to the customer. 6.3.2 Enterprise Customers

Current customers choosing the GiftWrap enterprise options will be provided with all necessary application software and installation scripts to implement the GiftWrap 4.0 product. 1. The GiftWrap 4.0 database can operate successfully in a database server environment running Windows Server 2003 as its operating system and SQL Server 2005 or 2008 (32 or 64 bit) as its database management system.

2. Database storage requirements will increase with database size. Note that 20GB database server storage is a minimum recommendation.

3. Note that SQL Server 2005 does not support Transparent Database Encryption (TDE), and therefore does not offer the same comprehensive level of data security as SQL Server 2008.

10 Appendix A – Troubleshooting

Problem – Cache Refresh

Values that would typically change on an ongoing basis, like date values, do not change. For example, the “Issued Date to Record for These Payments:” field on the Check/Upload tab of the Payment screen does not display the current date.

Also, you may find that the system will display only one report, irrespective of which report you try to generate. For example, you may generate a Gift Summary report, to view payments due, and then print checks for the current period, and find that, instead of printing checks, the system will display only the Gift Summary report.

Solution

To solve the problems noted above, first clear your browser cache. That means, you will delete all the files that your system is temporarily saving for viewing in your browser. Then make sure your browser is automatically updating your cache. To delete these temporary files and set for cache update, do the following:

For IE (IE 8.0):

1. Click on “Tools” in the main browser menu bar and select “Internet Option.”

2. First, click the “Delete” button under the “Browsing history” section of the “General” tab. The “Delete Browsing History” window will pop up. Accept the defaults and click the “Delete” button. Once all temporary files have been deleted, click on the “Settings” button under “Browsing history” on the “General” tab of the “Internet Options” window.

3. Make sure the “Automatically” option is selected under the “Check for newer version of stored pages:” heading. If you are having the problems described above, your browser is probably set to “Never.” Click “OK.”

Problem - Browser Timeout

Some reports require more than five minutes for GiftWrap to process. These reports typically involve five thousand records or more, and might include a Payment Summary or Person Profile. Browser timeout values are typically set to five minutes by default. Should you need to run one of these reports for five thousand records or more, it is recommended that you increase the timeout value for your browser. This value is measured in seconds, so a timeout of fifteen minutes, for example, would be 900 seconds.

1. Enter “about:config” in the address bar of your browser and press Enter.

2. Click on the I’ll be careful, I promise! button.

3. Enter “timeout” in the Filter bar.

4. Double click on network.http.keep-alive.timeout. View the Enter integer value dialog box and enter your desired timeout value in seconds (3600 is recommended).

5. Click OK.

Internet Explorer - .bat file for IE

In order to change the default timeout value for Internet Explorer, you need to edit the Windows System Registry. PG Calc will make a batch (.bat) file available which will automatically set the browser timeout value. This batch file is not currently available, and PG Calc will notify GiftWrap users when it is available.
