Giovanni Bellini

Giovanni Bellini (1430-1516), was a Venetian painter, is probably the best known of the Bellini family.
The type of art he painted was Religious.
He used a lot of colour and atmosphere in oil painting.
His father was Jacopo Bellini and his brother was Gentile Bellini.
Giovanni also had a sister Niccolsa who married Andrea Mantegain. Andrea was also a Renaissance painter.
He is considered to have changed the way of Venetian painting, making it a more "sensuous and colouristic style".
His most famous pupils were Giorgione and Titian.
PaintingsHere are his best known paintings.
But a while after his death most of his bestest works were destroyed in a church fire in 1577.
