Write Your Own Story
● Use active instead of passive: I.E: The police caught the thief on Monday.
● Instead of: The thief was caught on Monday● Use short sentences, verbs and adverbs: The thief stole a
bracelet. There was a storm. It was dark. It was raining heavily.
● Exercise: Similies

Describe your hero● Be precise
● Use similies (Sprachbilder):
• as quiet as a mouse
• as clear as a bell
• chatters like a monkey
● Add biographic facts: age, profession, home town, relationship status, education, great achievments
● Think of actions or gestures a person repeats
● Don’t write: She likes football
● Describe how she acts, when watching football: She is stepping from one feet to another, biting her fingernails, her eyes fixed on the tv-screen. When the moderator screams “gooooooal” she jumps three times and runs through the flat. Her arms look like the wings of an airplane and in a little moment you think she will fly.
