Giro helmets are meticulously crafted with a combination of hands on development and machine made precision. Graphics are hand positioned and designed to molded grid

templates for precise registration in the final production.

The Dome has one of the most advanced in-house R&D

facilities of any helmet manufacturer in the world.

Hand shaped clay models are a crucial step to realizing

the ideal helmet form.

We test our color range as much as we do our engineering

and safety standards.

Having a facility like the Dome allows us to dream up, design, prototype, test, and develop new ideas on a daily basis.

Giro benefits from having world-class resources. We’re based in the action sports wonderland of Santa Cruz, California, with endless singletrack trails, some of the best surf in America and dozens of ski resorts just a short drive away from the coast. In our headquarters — what we call the Dome — we have more than 50 test fixtures, several 3D printers, goggle testing equipment and an in-house wind tunnel. We even have a proprietary heat-sensing head form that we call the Therminator that is used to to validate vent locations and test cooling power. We geek out on the data churned out by these comprehensive tests, but it’s the ride that motivates us to spend long hours in the test lab.

New Ideas to Enhance the Ride. We use these words often. Because for us, enhancing your ride (and, perhaps selfishly, enhancing our own) is the greatest motivator. And without our R&D facility (the Dome) our new ideas would never come to life.

I sent it in the pipe and I’m not gonna lie,

a couple close calls scared the hell out of

me. I wanted to make the record official. I

didn’t go as big as I wanted this year, so we

just decided to take a day and go huge, and

I’m so stoked to have achieved this feat!

The Giro shoot in Tignes was crazy! It was

the day after I won the last World Cup of

the season and Joff was trying to set a

new world record. I was still reeling from

the nights celebrations, and watching him

get after it the first day really set the tone

for the trip and we ended up getting some

really cool stuff done and Joff got the record too.

HOW TO FIT A HELMET

• Measure and find your size helmet

• Adjust the fit using the helmet internal fit system. (Roc Loc 5, In Form 2, In Form, Auto Loc 2 or Fit Kit Pad System)

• Adjust the chinstrap and buckle

• Adjust the interior pads

• Check the fit

Wrap a measuring tape around your head, locate the tape above your ears and keep the tape level front to back. Take the measurement and match it to our helmet sizing guide on giro.com or helmet packaging.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HEAD FOR A HELMET

*Note: this is only a size guide **As with any helmet, proper fit is essential. For proper fitting, please refer to your owner’s manual.

POSITIONING

Position the helmet low enough in the front to protect the forehead and not leave a goggle gaper gap, but not too low that goggles push down on the nose.

* Note: The chinstrap buckle should be fastened and the strap pulled snugly before riding

• Vertical Tuning dials in how the helmets sits on your head for a perfect fit, eliminates gaper gap and creates a seamless lockup with Giro goggles.

• Roc Loc 5 and Auto Loc 2 fit systems boast On-The-Fly Vertical Tuning for tuning adjustments without removing your helmet.

HELMET CARE GUIDELINESMany common cleaners, especially petroleum-based solvents or cleaners, can damage a helmet. Paint and excessive heat can also damage a helmet.

Cleaning:• For best results, clean the helmet using a soft cloth or sponge, warm water and mild dish soap

• The pads in most helmets are removable and washable

Storing:• Excessive heat can damage the helmet

• After each use allow the helmet to air dry and then store in a cool, dry place

• If the condition is in question bring the helmet to an authorized Giro helmet dealer for inspection or call Giro Customer Service

Painting:• We strongly advise against painting or otherwise modifying a helmet. These things can damage the helmet and/or reduce it’s protective capabilities.

MIPS – MULTI-DIRECTIONAL IMPACT PROTECTION SYSTEMMIPS is a step forward in helmet design. There are three main components to a MIPS-equipped helmet: the interior foam liner, the Low Friction Liner and an elastomeric attachment system between them. In an angled impact, the elastomeric attachment system stretches to allow the foam liner to rotate inde-pendently around your head.
