In England during the early 17th century it was fashionable to call a certain type of dagger a 'Buckingham' dagger, since its popularity coincided with the ascendancy of George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham (1592-1628), the favourite of James I. The cross-guard is usually of iron overlaid in silver and the grips are of wood. In this example, the blades of at-diamond section are etched with Latin mottoes, a date and Tudor roses. Traces of gilding were found on the blade when it was recently cleaned.
Daggers in the 16th and early 17th centuries were usually worn 'en suite' with a sword, but by the 1630s they were carried separately. The leather sheath dated 1654 is a replacement for an earlier one and the pocket at the front would have carried a by-knife and a bodkin.
By tradition this once belonged to Sir John Hotham. Deprived of his ofce as Governor of Hull by Charles I, he initially supported the Parliamentary cause but his ambitious nature soon brought him into conict with leading Parliamentarians like Cromwell and Colonel Hutchinson. The 17th-century historian Lord Clarendon described him as being 'without any bowels of good nature or the least sense or touch of generosity'. Found guilty of intriguing with the Royalists, Hotham was beheaded in London in 1645.

V&A POSTER
Fictional poster promoting an object inside the Victoria & Albert Museum (London) using proper visual elements and containing information about the object.
The idea was to turn interesting an object that was apparently trivial.
This project was created within the module of Book Project at University of East London (UEL).

FUTURE PRINT
The purpose of this project was to create a garment based on our own concept of future. The chosen concept was contrasts.
With that in mind, I chose to create a party shirt/dress and the idea of the print is to change depending on the colour of the light that shines over it. For each layer there is a subject portrayed, creating a Wild x Human x Urban triple.
This project was developed within the module of Digital Print Technologies of the Textile Design course at University of East London (UEL).
6
PENGUINCOVER
Book cover project for a fictional Penguin book featuring four classic texts.
The main challenge of this project was to represent such different stories in only one cover. To do so, four colours were chosen to portray each story, according to its contents: a military green for For Whom the Bell Tolls; a pale red for Hamlet; a bright orange for the Manifesto and a melancholic blue for André Breton’s surrealist poems. The cover was handpainted in watercolour and then digitalized.
This project was created within the module of Book Project at University of East London (UEL).

HANGAR CONCEPT HOTEL
Ambiance project aiming to develop a concept-hotel inspired by the figure and work of the artist David Bowie.
The idea was to bring to the project Bowie’s strongest features and what he represents: a personality that is ever changing, always transforming itself, full of contrasts, translating that into a hotel that is not meant only for spending the night, but a place where the guests could interact with each other, keen on creation and development of new ideas.

This project was created within the module of Project Practice V at UDESC, along with Marcos Scheidt and Myrian Katto and it was granted the awards for best project of the class and best graphic design project in the UDESC Project Week in 2012.1.

MISC INTERACTIVE MUSEUM OF SANTA CATARINA
Branding project for a fictional state museum.
Through research, it was noticed that the existent museums in the state of Santa Catarina (south of Brazil) are focused on a very traditional and conservative approach So, we decided to create an interactive museum, where the work on display and the public could talk to each other, with culture in general as the main subject.
Apart from the museum, its own brand should be interactive, too, therefore, we created a brand you can “set up”, in four different colours to be used in the most various contexts.
This project was created within the subject of Project Practice IV, along with Maria Otávia Moui Prim and it was granted the award for best project of the class in the UDESC Project Week in 2011.2.

THE SHIFT MAGAZINE
The idea of the project was to create a magazine specifically targeting preteen boys from 12 to 14 years old. The magazine should be a complement of the boys’ lifestyle, being part of their universe and speaking their language, as a connection tool between them and the subjects of their interest.
A very important factor to the magazine was its materiality, since young boys are part of a digital generation, and are used to reading on the computer or cellphone screen. Because of that, drawing attention to paper was the main challenge.
This project was created within the subject of Project Practice III, along with Marcos Scheidt.

3x4 INDIVIDUALWINE
The idea was to develop a packaging project based on a predetermined conceptual guideline. The choice was to work with wine packaging, using the movie (500) Days of Summer as an inspiration.
From the observation of elements and ideas expressed on the movie, we reached the conception of an individual wine, fit to personal moments of leisure and relaxation, using identity as a concept – that which is personal and unique to an individual, that represents them. Their home, objects, the places they like to spend time at are part of their identity.
This project was created within the subject of Project Practice II, along with Maria Otávia Moui Prim.

DMU DEPT. OF MUSIC
Branding project created for institutional usage of the UDESC Department of Music.
Through research about the main theme, we came across the concept of the maestro, representing professionalism in music. Among the various elements that compose the figure of the maestro, we selected as a main line the baton and its movements, represented in the letter M.
This project was developed along with the scholars of LabDesign at UDESC.
