Wednesday 3rd June.
LO: To produce an Giuseppe Arcimboldo inspired portrait.
In our ‘What’s Cooking?’ project this term we are learning about
being and staying healthy! As we know, we should be eating a range of colourful fruit and vegetables to
keep us healthy and keep our bodies working properly!
We love eating many different fruit
and veggies, but an artist that loved using them in his art was an
Italian artist called…
Giuseppe Arcimboldo Name: Giuseppe Arcimboldo
Born: 1527
What did he paint? Imaginative
portraits using mostly food!
Interestingly, he would pick food
that had a connection to
whatever he was painting. For
example, when creating a picture
of autumn he used fruits and
vegetables that grew in autumn.
Your Challenge: Create your very own Arcimboldo inspired portrait. Produce your portrait anyway you would like, but make sure it features healthy fruit and veggies. You could paint your portrait, produce a simple drawing or use real fruit and veggies! Enjoy looking at more of Arcimboldo’s work on the next pages to inspire you further!
